Rank Coaching Jobs in State
Based on this criteria, I'd say Marty Jaggers at Mercer Co. has a great job. Support from Administration (Superintendent) is 100%!! Pay (word around town) is around $85,000 both teaching/coaching Teaching Schedule is Homebound Approximately 9 assistants with other support staff Middle School & Little League Feeder Programs Fan Support is incredible (especially with a State Title in 2006) Budget is also very good as 1 of the booster parents indicated they have about $40,000 carry over from last year and they don't have to buy uniforms, equipment, etc. with this. The district pays for those expenses. Oh... and don't forget the new indoor athletic facility which is second to none in the state (public schools that is).

Lexcath VS Franklin Co. Round II
Lexington Catholic wins this one. Should be a good game, but LC has too many weapons.

Johnson Central vs. Ashland - Round 2
Ashland has a good team, but it seems to be Johnson Central's year. JC - 42 A - 7

Ashland 17 Mason Co. 0
Thanks! Can't believe I overlooked that... Guess I'm still in shock over the QB getting suspended. Though BGPreps may not be the most professional place to state the reasons why the QB was suspended, it appears 'professionalism' and being fair isn't the main priority at MC. I sure hope this doesn't happen to a basketball player during the Regional or State Tourney. Oh wait... I don't think they would dare do that to a bball player! But you better believe, everyone will be watching to make sure that all athletes are handled in the same manner and that all abide by the principal's rules! We sure wouldn't want any discrimination among the sports here!

Scott Co. 19 Dunbar 7
so whats the deal with Dunbar? I thought a couple of years ago when they hired Hensley the school/community said he was the man to take them to the next level... are they just down in talent this year??? I just remember reading all the threads here on BGP about what an awesome coach he is so I'm a bit perplexed... is this merely a down year?

Boyle 68 Taylor 26
way to go Rebels!... keep fightin'!:fight:

Mason County 45 Lawrence County 6
excellent idea!... maybe some Royals alumni... football fans at heart... could make this happen. Now if a business footed the bill for new turf and bleachers, then maybe rename the field, like... DeShaes Stadium. But just a new turf... I dunno. This is definitely something to explore... "if you build it, they will come":thumb: another thought... If the basketball floor had dips in the wood or if the ball didn't bounce just right on it... don't you think 'them Mason powers' would be on top of that... you bet they would!!... so why a crappy football field?:irked:
-
Mason County 45 Lawrence County 6
maybe the powers-that-be consider Mason County a basketball school:sssh: ... though it is true that Mason County has a rich history of basketball excellence... the football PROGRAM has only been in existence for about the past 10 years and the coaching staff and players have made it something that is respected by many across the state!... you'd think the Mason Co. powers would want to excel in everything and provide the means to do so. :thumb: ... someone said in another thread something about Mason Co and Mercer Co...what do they have in common?... well it appears the difference may be in the money and facilities that is put in to football... Mercer has a new $3 million indoor sports complex...
-
Mason Co. and Mercer Co.
a little south? ... the very first year they went from 2A to 3A they played Highlands in the semifinals... and had a couple good seasons after that... year before last they had an extremely bad year, but they're getting the wheels rolling again... I wouldn't consider them as having gone south:irked:

Boyle football parents meet with superintendent, principal
AMEN!... but nowadays the kids can do no wrong, don't ya know?!? Parents running to the Super are their kids biggest problems... not the coaches!
