  1. Solid game by GRC. HC just a better team but that's not slighting GRC at all. We just needed a more efiicient passing attack to keep HC from loading up in the box. I'm very proud of my Cards as they overcame alot of early season turmoil and jelled as a team when it counted.GRC may or may not be as good next year with the loss of Jones,Greene and Rogers. But...........we bounced back strong this season after losing Hudson, Perdue , Guinn, Skinner and Holliman to graduation. PC will have them very competitive and prepared next year.
  2. HC unfortuately BIG! But.............we'll see after the final horn.
  3. Cards should finish with wins in last 2 games unless they just blow up and don't protect the ball like in the Lincoln Co. game. Finish a respectable 6-4 regular season. Not what we fans were expecting. I'm just not sure what we can do when play-off time comes and we play a really good team.At this point the only consistent offense I see is giving the ball to Greene. Our defense is inconsistent. Looks great at times and lost at other times. The talent and depth is there its just a matter of playing to our abilities to go deep in the play-offs.
  4. GRC 28- WC 7. All 3 should have been released from the team. Too many problems caused for too long a time.
  5. Donnie Johnson at GRC. Went onto Campbellsville and became their all time leading scorer and punter.
  6. GRC 28- MC23. GRC wins with home field advantage. If GRC is going to beat MC it has to be this year. Green should have been carrying the load last season. Jr. year was wasted on the sideline. He is deserving of his success.I hope some D-1 schools have been paying attention.
  7. Clint Greene from GRC. Has the size, speed , body and moves. Great feet. Now that he has the coach's confidence he will finally get the ball consistently and put up BIG numbers.
  8. MC much improved but few weapons at this point. Nice road win for GRC but not really impressive. I'll give PC credit.....he fed the horse by giving the ball to Greene. I like Robelle at receiver much better. More of a natural position for him. Now GRC has more weapons to depend on.
  9. GRC will still be good even though they lost 14 wins between Perdue and Bennett. Check out Evan Bennet at ss. He's a Jr. But been a starter since his freshman yr. Not alot of power yet but could be the most consistent hitter in the region.Great fielder too. Jeremy Greene will anchor a solid staaff at pitcher.I do agree that Boubon may be underappreciated and could win this region. Deep staff.
  10. GRC's secondary never really gets burned. They're always in on the play. I think (my opinion) is that because they are short they usually get out jumped or out positioned for the ball. They have great speed. I believe they just need better timing on the jump and better positioning. As for Conner, .......I don't know. I know him and I know that he can be and is a good kid. Sometimes tough love doesn't work on a kid. He has overcome some difficult obstacles and a little attention and positive words could go a long with him.
  11. Greene was awesome! Hope he gets to carry the ball more now. Always has had the talent but needed the opportunity. GRC's secondary is still suspect. Don't get me wrong, they seem to always be in on the pass play but they're so short they're usually out-jumped for the ball. GRC could have and should have played better. There was no comparison between the 2 teams. Athletically GRC was heads and shoulders above Garrard Co. This game was much closer than the final score. I love my Cards but I'm still skeptical about how good they really are at this point. All the potential in the world , if they work hard and bring it out on the field.
  12. Great team speed. I give the edge to Morton as individual fastest.
  13. GRC beaten down in the trenches. Both lines are too slow .
  14. GRC bounces back 28-10. I also agree that PC needs to put the best 11 on the field and abandon the 11 offense then different 11 defense. That was the down-fall of last yrs. team. If not for that GRC wins at least 2 playoff games last yr. GRC is deep but not that deep to keep this system.
  15. GRC played well in the field and hit the ball but didn't put the hits together. HC played solid spaced out the erors and cashed in. I've never been a Mac or HC fan but I give credit where and when its due. I give it to HC today. They deserved the W.As for Clark and their parents behavior and comments, I didn't hear them but I don't doubt it either.GRC has a couple of players who I might say have been abrasive to their team-mates and their parents are too. This definitely affected the teams chemistry in my opinion. For several years now I've thought that GRC did not put their players all on the field or some in the right positions. last night was a classic example with the DH and pinch hit decisions. I'm not a parent nor do I have a dog in the fight other than being a huge GRC sports fan, this is just my opinion. I don't ever see this changing or GRC getting past HC soon if it continues. Bennett wasn't his usual self but didn't get any breaks either. Perdue was as usual solid as he's been for 5 yrs. but still didn't get the respect from his coaches. You have to be in that small circle of favorites to get there love. Another year we had the best team but came up short. Good luck to both HC and Boubon Co.
  16. Clark won 7-4. GRC got 5 strong innings from Lance Rose. Kalan Perdue , a starter, came on in the 6th and pitched strong getting out of a potential jam after 2 errors on not too difficult ground balls to third and second base. He ended up striking out 3 out the last 4 batters he faced. Jon Tatum hit a solo shot to get Clark's rally going. GRC now goes to region as District Champs and a record of 27-5.
  17. Great times. Greene has the size and speed but......... will he get the carries this year. He had very limited opportunities last season.
  18. GRC's Bennett pitched well but errors again haunted Clark Co. Paris HAS improved tremendously the last month or so. They are not the same team GRC 10 run ruled in April. Seems Paris is peaking at the right time. Clark has to re-focus and come ready to play in the district or Paris could sneak by them.
  19. Clark Co. lost last night at Bourbon Co. 3-1 ending an 11 game winning streak. GRC now at 21-5. Greene pitched a good game but Cooke was just a little better. GRC uncharacteristically made a few errors and didn't hit the ball well. Also left several runners stranded. GRC today host Paris to hopefully lock up the District seed.
  20. Turner has been solid in the field but not very effective with the bat. Missed first several games while waiting to be ruled eligible by KHSAA. Hopefully he'll get his swing back soon.
  21. Clark 4 - Bath 3. GRC with an uninspired effort at home. They did set two starters and and did not throw any pitchers from regular rotation but the effort wasn't there. Nice effort from Bath. If not for a couple of errors by Bath the outcome may have been different. Nice job by Bath's pitcher and Trusty at 2nd/. Bath also hit the ball well . They probably had more base hits than GRC.I liked Bath's grit. They were not intimidated by the big team.Seemed like great kids too. Hat's off to them.
