Not at all cshs81. It's two totally different arena's. Go back and look at my post #21. Football and Baseball are NOT the same. Football requires a minimum of about 40 players. It requires a larger number of kids to get that many players to field a football team. Baseball is just not the same. Period. You can field a good baseball team with as little as 14 players. It doesn't leave a lot of room for injury, but it can be done. If a school of 250 boys can't find 14 boys to play baseball, then maybe they should rethink their approach to playing, like combining those who are interested in the game with a neighboring school.

I agree. It should be a best of three series through out the tournament. It would be tough to do, but I think it would be better. It would probably extend the tournament season by two (2) to three (3) weeks. This puts you at the end of June instead of early June. I can't think of a better thing to be doing in June than watching baseball.

You are so right Bulldogg77. I don't even know why we have a tournament at the end of the season. Everyone should just play for fun. Every player should get a snow cone after every game. Heck, while we're at it I think everyone should get a participation trophey to take home with them at the end of the season. Hey! I've got a better idea how about we give every player a CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY. Yea, That's it! Even those kids at the beginning of the season who tried out for the team and got cut. They shouldn't be left out. They're entitled. We don't want them to have their feelings hurt for the whole summer.

I heard AD the AD talking about the football field being ready for the new turf on AM790 Tuesday night in the Pre-game show for the basketball game. I didn't realize it was actually happening. This is way cool! :thumb: GO TIGERS!:thumb:

I just learned about the 3RD ANNUAL OHIO VALLEY SHOWCASE this coming Saturday at Champions Sports in Lexington. Can anyone give me the heads up on this showcase? They claim "MANY COLLEGE COACHES WILL BE IN ATTENDANCE!!!" Is this true or just a ploy to get people to attend? How well attended is it? You picked the easy obvious for the champs of the 6th and 7th. PRP is always strong in the 6th Region and Ballard has enjoyed good success in the 7th. However, the St. X Tigers are going to be a force to be dealt with this year. Their current junior class went 21 and 0 there freshman year and 23 and 4 last year as JV's. The 4 games they lost as JV's they only lost by a combined 12 runs. This combined with 9 returning seniors who went to the final 4 last year, things look pretty promising over in Tiger town. GO TIGERS!

BR - I don't speak for xtiger, but I agree with you, Brad may not be THE Best QB in CSAA history. That's why we both said he was "One Of The Best" I do think you have to put him in the top 10. I could be wrong without checking with his Dad to confirm, but I think he had two Toy Bowl Championships for St. Patrick as QB. Not that that alone would make him great. Brad is a very good athlete and a good person, both on and off the field.

I don't know of to many High School Baseball programs that don't require there kids to commit to playing during Spring Break. I'm not saying there aren't some programs out there, I just don't know of any. At the Freshman and JV level my son was told during training, not to sign up if you are going on vacation during Spring Break. Typically at the Varsity level most programs travel to some location outside the state to give the kids some resemblance of a Spring Break. If you and your son love the game you guys better get use to it, it's the norm.

I've known the Savko family for 12 to 14 years. I consider them amoung some of my closest friends. Brad had orginally planned to play both Football and Baseball while at State. Much to his Dad's dismay, as his life long Baseball coach, he choose to focus on Football. Even in his transfer to WKU he made it perfectly clear he would be focused on Football. Great Kid. Great Family. I agree he was one of the best QB's St. Patrick has seen and for that matter CSAA.
