I played in the 70's when womens lib was going strong. Our football coach was also the sociology and psycology teacher, and we had a girl in our class who was a big womens liber. She ask in class one day if she could come out for the team and coach replied there is no law against so I guess the answer is yes. My reply was come on out I'll tear your head off. She looked at coach and said is he allowed to do that. Coach said he does it to everyone else so I guess your fair game. Needless to say she didn't come out. I coached a girl who kicked extra points for us and was a terrific onside kcker and we used her for that from time to time. Her senior year at homecoming she kicked an extra point, did an onside kick we recovered and was elected homecoming queen. That was in 2000 so times have changed since I played.

They're not required as far as I know to do JV games, so I don't know why this would be an issue. Of course it could be different in NKY.

I'll second that. I think it has been a win win situation for the entire community.

Franklin County was the team to beat, but I agree Frankfort may be wearing the bullseye this year.

You currently get 10 days in the spring, and I think most coaches will tell you that between the passing leagues and that month of preseason practice is over they are glad for the season to start. I know when I played and coached fulltime a month of just getting to hit on each other was plenty.

Sounds like they made a pretty stupid move from an outsiders view. Half the equation is the players believing in the coach.

So what's the real deal here. Everyone seems to be pleased with his work and him as a person. I just don't understand. We played in their bowl game several years ago and it was a very good experience. His team played extremely hard and with class. Something sure doesn't smell good.

You have to keep it wet the first 30 days. Sounds like they may be over doing it a bit, but it takes about a month for it to get started. Once it does start they will need to fertilize once a week and start to mow. Until it's established they need to mow with a reel mower, and mowing actually helps it spread as the clippings are basically more spriggs. Don't panic it should be alright.

So you're concerned about the entire team?

Frankfort vs Franklin County was renewed 4 years ago and I'm pretty sure it's the biggest crowd of the season for both teams.

Like most have already posted I didn't know him personally,and we went at it from time to time, and he stood by what he beleived. He will truly be missed, and my prayers go out to his family.

I coach at Frankfort and we have a handful of parents who think it is their right to boo players and coaches. Coaches get paid, so that's no big deal, but booing palyers is another thing. What people don't realize is it only takes a few to make your entire fan base look bad. We've got several who's kids have graduated and they still come mainly to boo the coaching staff.

Do you really expect anyone to fess up?

I wouldn't want to defend the option with E.J. Fields of Frankfort running it.

If they're going with bermuda they can wait until June 1st to sprigg and it will be ready by August 1st if they do everything correctly.

The same could be be said about the Trimble job, and you guys are doing a fine job there and actually have a few people giving Trimble some top ten votes. I would say if you guys can turn Trimble around the right coach could do the same for Owen.
