Mom's have been that way forever. I took 6 stitches above my eye in the 7th grade and told my coach he would have to go in and talk to my Mom or I wouldn't get to play anymore. My Dad worked 2nd shift at the time and would've changed her mind, but it did help having coach talk to her. I think soccer has hurt football numbers as much as anything.

The endzones could use a little more light. When we were there I was thinking if there was anyway they could put some of the baseball lights on a swivel where they could be pointed at that side of the footbal field.

Owen has been far from a powerhouse the last several years. I think Kenny knows football and given a little time can probably turn things aroung in Owenton.

I thought the high humidity for this time year two weeks ago affected our players.

Was this a varsity game? If so how bad is Casey County, or did they play their freshmen?

I was at the game and would not post an incorrect score.

Obviously by the score it was all Frankfort tonight. EJ Fields open the scoring with a 20 yard run, and on the next possesion Kerry Metcalf ran in a fumble from 14 yards. Frankfort rushed for 298 yards. I don't have official stats, but probably held Hills to around 5 first downs on the night.

We tried to upgrade our schedule by adding Campbellsville and Garrard who were both supposed to be pretty good this year. Still have Danville and John Hardin, so yes it does get much tougher.

You do not want to overschedule and create a losers mentallity. That can be one of the hardest things to overcome. Players believing in themselves and the coaches is one of the most important things in building a program and obviously Gallatin has that covered.

These used to be used as a tie breaker for the playoffs years ago when not every team in the state made it.

Why? The freshmen were in good grief, as Charlie Brown would say.

The Panthers travel across town to take on the Wolverines. Frankfort is 4-0 against W.H.'s since they renewed the game. I look for the Panthers to make it 5-0.

Gallatin is doing things the right way. Being only their second year of varsity football I wouldn't expect the schedule to be any different. You have to walk before you run. Now Eminence didn't play a district schedule for years and scheduled as many weak teams as possible and competeted in the 8 man league which no longer exists. Aside from doing something like that this is the way you are supposed to build a program. Schedule what you hope are some winnable games outside district play, and line up and play whoevers in your district. Although we( Frankfort) beat them soundly the score is not indicative as to what type of game it was. Gallatin moved the ball pretty well, but couldn't put in the endzone. I was very impressed with what I saw.
