Your opinion on the temporary lights??

Featured Replies

What does everyone think of the temporary lights situation at various schools??

I have not been to Cov. Cath, but Gallatin County could use another set in the endzones.

Your thoughts??

Gallatin's are just fine!! Everyone that has played, coached or officated has given them the ole :thumb:

The endzones could use a little more light. When we were there I was thinking if there was anyway they could put some of the baseball lights on a swivel where they could be pointed at that side of the footbal field.

If a school is utilizing temporary lights, than there is an obvious need. I commend any program, for bringing them in for use, until such time that revenue, allows permanent to be in place.

Some will be fine, while others are adequate but an effort is being made, to play evening games, which is a great thing.

I guess they're better than candles.

If they are only going to be used once a year as in CovCath's case, they are adequate.

I think that the CCH temp lights game was done this year only. That is what CCH told their neighbors. If they want to do it once a year, they will have to apply to Kenton County Area Planning for every event. I think that fee is 500.00.

Sheldon Clark had a great atmosphere and a lot of great fans. Their field was a little difficult....tons of the new rubber pellets and dust all over the surface due to the drought. But the one thing that detracted from the overall experience was the poor lighting. I have seen more light on some poorly lighted baseball fields in our area! WYMT Sports Overtime Game of the Week....footage of endzone, was so dark you could hardly see the players! They could use some more lights of any kind!
