Tonight was a GREAT night for football in the Fort! The place was packed, the HHS student section was rockin' and the weather was a perfect night for football. Looked like the celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Ft. Thomas Junior Football league. On the field, things were business as usual. The Birds handled the Rebels about like they should. I predicted a 28 point differential so I wasn't too far off. I personally was impressed with Highlands safeties that weren't afraid to get in the dog pile and mix it up a little. Bardo looked good, but you could tell that all his weapons weren't in the huddle tonight. (AC) I think I saw that the HHS class of 99 was celebrating their 10 year reunion tonight. That was the best team that I have ever seen at HHS. With the likes of Lorenzen, Smith, Gibson, Ulbricht and a cast of others. THOSE were the true untouchables Ft. Thomas style!! Nice to see the Birds of yesteryear supporting the current squad!

Not only was NCC lacking in depth, looked like desire was also depleted. When you have no room for errors you definitely cant afford a play off here and there.

I dont think games in the fall are a necessity, but to have coached practices on the field like spring football practice is what I was referring to....

That since there is spring football, there should be fall baseball at the high school level? Maybe in September or October? If it puts football ahead of the game, don't you think that a month of baseball would be alright too?

If this is the case I guess in 10 years we'll have two Bluebird QB's with a Superbowl Ring and some NCAA Division I and SEC records. Hopefully Bardo will be able to fill those size 16's left by J LO!

I believe that the 1996 Birds football team was ranked in the USA today poll. After losing in the state finals to Bowling Green the year before.
