Fishhead Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Should be interesting this year with Holmes in 4A. Maybe the program can get a taste of success and build on it.
Roots Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Congrats to Holmes! How did Regal Lowe look on D? I really look for him to have a great year- he's a great kid!
Sandman Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Not necessarily surprised by the outcome of this one, but I'm certainly surprised by the margin. Anyone with any details on how this one played out?
bigmarc78 Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Holmes dominated Lloyd the entire first half. Jensen the QB had about 150 yards rushing and Oden probably had close to 100. Oden also scored for Holmes 4 times. Not really a recap I know but I wasn't able to give my full attention to the game due to having other issues to deal with lol. But Holmes D looked great against an outmatched Lloyd team and after they built the 27-0 halftime lead they just coasted to the finish line.
Commander 25 Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Should be interesting this year with Holmes in 4A. Maybe the program can get a taste of success and build on it. I think so too especially in years to come who knows maybe even this year.
buttels Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Lloyd found themselves in a hole early as Bulldog QB Jesse Jenson ran in a 38 yarder for the first score of the game with 3:54 to go in the first quarter giving the Bulldogs an early 6-0 lead. Holmes then exploded in the 2nd quarter adding three more scores, all by Damien Oden. A 4 yard run on the first play of the second quarter, 62 yard kickoff return and an 11 yard run put the Bulldogs on cruise control taking a 27-0 halftime lead. Lloyd would get on the scoreboard in the third quarter with a 12 yard run from Dylan Smith but Holmes answered back with a Deshaun Peterson 21 yard catch making the score 34-6 going into the final 12 minutes. Lloyd would get their final points of the game on a 6 yard run from Dylan McGuire, while Holmes topped off their scoring with Damien Oden's 4th TD run from 15 yards out. I'm working on the game audio and pictures now. Should be up on the website shortly.
NEERFAN Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Holmes winning isn't a suprise, but I would have thought this would have been a closer contest. Good win for Holmes, it's always nice to get out of the gates quickly.
