I can't same much for Gamsky because I never got to see him play, but Flynn from Cov. Cath. was without a doubt the best we played against and I would have to put Tackett and Johnson of JC in there as well. Tackett's motor never stopped, most aggressive I've ever witnessed.

Coach Evans has brought this program a long way in a short time. I really think that they are the front runner in their district next year. You could see a big imporvement from the first time we played them and the playoff game this past year. I know next year is a new team, but they'll have several familiar faces. Good luck Lions!

Johnson Central will be traveling to South Point next year for the season opener for both schools. I have heard that Bob Lutz, the former Ironton High School Head Coach has been contacted about possibly coming to South Point as the new Head Coach. He's only 10-15 wins from being the winningest H.S. coach in Ohio history. If he gets back into coaching, I'm sure he'll get it!

I'm not going to spend much time debating this because truthfully if your not #1 then your just the first loser and our goal was and still is a State Championship. If you want to be called #2 then abracadabra your #2. Head to head is the only way to end this debate. Unfortunately we'll never know. I do know that JC still has 2 weeks to fill next year and is having a difficult time doing so. If you know anyone over there have them give us a call.

JC's game plan was working against Cov. Cath. until our workhorse fullback went down with a knee injury 3 play into our first drive in the second half. We were making first downs and burning up the clock. Now I'm not going to go so far as guarantee a victory, because as you know, Cov. Cath. was very good, but I think with Blake for all 4 quarters its a very close game in the final seconds. So, guaranteeing a Lex. Cath. victory is a little presumtive considering that Cov. Cath. beat them too.

James Barrett kicker for JC was honorable mention as well!

They announced the District Players of the Year and District Coach's of the Year at the State Championship Games. Congrat's to Shawn Grim, 3A Reg.4 District 8 Player of the Year and Coach Matney Coach of the Years!

John McKissick of Summersville High School in Summersville, SC. He's the winningest high school coach in the country with 10 state titles in SC largest division and 542 victories in a 55 year head coaching tenure at the same school. He's now 80 years old and still coaching!

I've been reading on some of the other threads about getting your fans to hang signs and have business' put supportive messages on their signs. I wish you the best of luck with that. You really need community support and it shows the kids just how much they mean to everyone. Coach Matney said at the beginning of the year that this place has always been know as a basketball town. He told the kids that we're going to make it a football town. Taking nothing away from basketball, because they won the region and went to the state finals last year, I think we are well on the way to doing that.

The blueprints show a building about the size of 3 basketball courts side by side with the field turf surface inside with new weightrooms setting directly behind the new football stadium. It will be used by all sports, baseball, soccer, etc.

First of all I want to congratulate Cov. Cath. on a great game. They were the better team and deserved to win. I think our losing Blake Johnson really hurt us, more so on defense than offense. I don't think it was enough to win the game, but we could have kept it closer. I would like to thank the Colonel fans for all of the nice things that have been said about the people, facilities and atmosphere for the game. We have worked very hard to make it enjoyable for everyone. Beginning next week the old stadium that you enjoyed will be coming down and construction will begin on a new stadium, locker rooms, indoor practice facility and Field Turf surface. It will also have seating on both sides of the field. I will post pictures occasionally to keep everyone updated. I look forward to meeting your team again, maybe next year for a regional title in 5A. I think a commitment has been made to make JC a player in high school football and I think we are definately moving in the right direction. Great job this year Eagles! You played a great game and have nothing to hang your head about. As for the seniors, we love you guys and are definately going to miss you. If we do see you guys next year we're not going to take it easy on you like we did last night!:lol: Good luck next week in the state championship!:thumb:

Good luck tonight Eagles and bring home a win. Leave it all on the field. These memories will last a lifetime. Don't look back after tonights game and think, what if...... If we come out and play the very best game we can and get beat by a better team, there's no disgrace in that. If we come out and make mistakes and let one we could have won get away, you'll look back on that the rest of your life. We can ask for nothing more than your best effort! Having said that, I beleive if we bring our best effort on both sides of the ball we can win this game. We're praying for you Eagles!

Yes, but our regional jail is quite nice being relatively new. I'm not sure about the amenities, but it has a beautiful view of the river. For those from a wet county its called "bootlegging".

I don't even think the Johnsonville thing was the insult. It was the jab taken afterward saying I'm sure its in the middle of nowhere.

I don't know about an upset when you're talking about talent against talent. I think there both fairly equal. But definately if your talking program vs. program. JC is just establishing theirs, but Rock's been around for a long time.

A wins a wins wether its by 1 or 50! I'll take the 12 nuts we've got so far especially the very filling two that we took from Ashland. Even a blind squirrels gotta eat.....

Frances, If that was to happen they would want to seperate all the mountain schools into there own league. :D
