Do you like when your school plays out of state teams?

Featured Replies

Don't care either way. A game is a game, and I will watch.

I think is a fun thing to play schools you don't normally see. I think the players enjoy it also.

One of the games I remember most, as a player, was a game that Coach Bill Tom Ross took us to play at Lynchburg VA against Lynchburg Christian Acadamy held at Liberty Baptist College. That was the only game that Lynchburg Christian Acadamy lost that season. We had more fans there then LCA did.

I like home games.

In the 70's we always played a few games with out of state schools. It was always great to play against teams you don't see every day.

That is one thing that Raceland is known for. The fans always travel well and in most cases have more fans than the home team.

I love matchups with out of state teams. Much more interesting than the same old same old.

Johnson Central will be traveling to South Point next year for the season opener for both schools. I have heard that Bob Lutz, the former Ironton High School Head Coach has been contacted about possibly coming to South Point as the new Head Coach. He's only 10-15 wins from being the winningest H.S. coach in Ohio history.

If he gets back into coaching, I'm sure he'll get it!

I like home games too, but it was awesome to go to Elder's backyard and beat their behinds.

WOW...That would be HUGE. But I really can't see this happening....Unless he can bring a few of his old staff with him. But, heck I guess stranger things have happened;)

Yeah, I don't see Lutz going to S.P.

But as far as the topic goes.. I love playing out of state teams. Glad to see Ironton back on Ashland's schedule next year. :ylsuper:

From what I am hearing Ashland should post the win being Ironton is expected to be way down. Add to that they just lost one of their better players. Stamper(SP) transferred to Wheelersburg.

You can't ever pencil in a win against Ironton. Especially in this series. Although you have brought us Tomcat fans some good news. But I was just a lil cub when I learned to never count the Tigers out.

I find it interesting that schools from Ohio and Tenn bring more fans to the game than schools that are within 10 miles!
