The whole premise of this thread is a joke and based on non-facts. Guru has let it distaste for Rash and the Beechwood program completely destroy his reasoning skills. I watched the game live and now twice on DVR. I still believe the same thing I felt on the drive home. Every turnover was self-inflicted and had nothing to do with "Men Popping Boys". Please tell me which turnovers were caused by "Men Popping boys" heck, which ones were even cause by a defender making a hit. While I certainly know that CCH is the more talented team, Beechwood lost that game by not taking care of the football, dropped passes and poor coaching choices. Not even the dropped passes were the result of great defensive play. There were at least 8 drops including the interception off a tipped ball Idefinitely a great grab by Way) Most happening on key downs. Beechwood gave the football away and did not execute. As a result, the more talented CCH team was able to take advantage. The talent difference (like the inujuries) is also magnified when the the talent is playing on both sides of the ball instead of just one. The fact of the matter is Beechwood lost that game and two players from CCH were glad to take it. I don't think W and L are the most important thing in this game. I would love to Win it, but it is a great rivalry and had been close enough to make both teams truly care about and WANT to win it. Clearly its a great rivalry and should continue. I have to hand it to Guru. Some of the threads he has started the past couple of weeks are just excellent marketing. Kudos for taking care of your business. "Lack of confidence" is not something I would ever use to describe a Mayfield team. Even when they are down, they look confident and in control. That was never more apparent than in last years Playoff game.

So let me say this. We would have to be fools to criticize anything Mayfield does. Where did I say it wasn't tough? Heck, where did I even imply it? No one knows what Mayfield does more than the Beechwood fans. I was responding to a criticism of Beechwood's regular season records the past few years. It was in no way a reference to Mayfields or saying theirs isn't as difficult. Heck, I assume that it may be more difficult. One thing I notice on BGP is that people tend to read a lot into posts that just isn't there.

Is "Zero" a reference to your IQ? Take a look at those losses and see who they are to before you criticize a team for their record. Beechwood schedules tough non-district opponents. Sometimes it results in some losses. In the past four years, I can only think of 1 Upset. That would be Holmes 2012. VOR is the most realistic and reasonable Beechwood Fan I know. Not sure how saying that Beechwood will not lose because of Speed is "Beating up on Mayfield" All I can figure is that post count is way down on BGP and Guru is artificially driving the count up.

Yes. Didn't think I needed to revisit, but since you apparently do not see it, you were wrong. 1. Cov Cath did not score 37 points. 2. Beechwood most certainly did not "take a beating" I said all along that CCH was a much better team than people were giving credit for. In actuality, after seeing them play, they are better than I thought they would be. They have so many good athletes on that team. I make no excuses for the Tigers. They simply didn't get it done. The better team certainly won, but the Tigers are not that far off. The score is the result of turnovers, nothing else. While the Tigers may have still lost without them, this game certainly would have been one of the better ones. That said, the fact is that we did have 4 turnovers and the result was that we lost by more than they should have.

Never a good time when your team commits 4 turnovers.

Let's get a bit real here... 1. They are still ranked 5th in the current 4A polls and 3rd overall in NKY. 2. They only have 3 starters out --hardly "Riddled with starters out" 3. They are still a VERY GOOD football team.

They definitely didn't give up in this one. Down 12-0 with 3.5 min left. They scored and then immediately forced a 3 and out for Beechwood. They got the ball back with 1:45 left. Unfortunately, I believe 1st play was a long pass that was intercepted by Cole Hicks and returned for TD. Then they looked dejected...

One thing I would like to see is Bellevue fans/community/alumni stick with the team through everything. Unfortunately when the team is not expected to do well, they simply don't show up. When the team is doing well, they come out of the woodwork and are all over the field for the Beechwood /Bellevue game. While they can be a bit harsh standing behind the visitor sidelines, I at least give them credit for being there. They just need to do that more regularly and rebuild the Boosters and get the machine rolling. Bellevue always comes up with some good talent in Football and Baseball, they just need chain some years together in order to build a program. They scare me almost every year we play them. Seems like they always play Beechwood well above expectations.

In 1982, Ludlow had a great team. I believe Beechwood beat them (and the Capel twins) with a barefooted fieldgoal by Ted Quinlan at the end of regulation to send the tigers into the playoffs for the first time since 1978. That was the start of the turnaround that put Beechwood in the Playoffs for all but 1 of the next 30 years. Beechwood went on to lose in the Semi-Finals to Cumberland. Yeagle definitely put it in Over-drive, but Beechwood definitely had it in high gear in the eighties under Bernie Barre. Hazey Memory, but I believe most of the facts are correct

I believe it is 18 to 14 in favor of CCH. We went on quite q run during the Yeagle years, but have not beat the colonels since 2008.

Have talked many times about the importance of JV. A few years ago, I thought Beechwood was negligent with the JV schedule. No effort was made to schedule games for the weeks that the Varsity opponent was far away or didn't have a JV team. I'm happy to say that I believe they are doing a much better job now. The JV is important for not only building the program, but also giving non-starters the experience of actually playing a real game. Sure, it may not be varsity, but for many, JV is all they may have. They work hard, the attend all meetings and practices, get used as dummies for the varsity and they deserve to play as much as possible. Even 2 quarters in a Varsity game does not replace the JV experience. Clyde's post this morning about Jacob Lamping is a key reason we shouldn't take the JV stuff for granted. Don't they already have "a part of T" by scrimmaging them? A scrimmage gives HHS none of the benefits from playing a Good Team well, but will certainly make headlines if T destroys them in a scrimmage. So I would say that a scrimmage shows they have no problem with having "A part of Trinity."
