  1. Does anyone know who and where Bullitt East Scrimmages?
  2. Part of being a coach, and a good one, is always looking to better your family's situation. We don't know what happened with coach Cobb at Henderson. I don't think its about getting the best "deal". Coaches have to look hard at the situation and what is best for his family.
  3. Woodford returns 3 of 5 starters on the offensive line. The others have had significant playing time last year. Woodford will have a running game as well.
  4. Bullitt East plays Woodford first game of the year. Is a game of opposites. Woodford throws A LOT, BE runs A LOT. Whats expected?
  5. Shawne Lewis #7 is returning. He had 1,500 all purpose yards. Should have more this year due to some graduation. Might even see him at some other positions on the field. #81 Jamaal Pickens signed with Kentucky State.
  6. Woodford returns an entire defense. And Quite possibly the best athlete in Central Kentucky in Shawne Lewis. The district is tough, but definatly not any harder than the Lexington district they were in. They have a very strong Junior calss. It will be tough replacing 4 year starter Trenton Fields at QB.
  7. What about Woodford? Coming down from the 4A district they played in? Do they get no respect?
  8. What does Bullitt East Have? Are they young or senior heavy? What is their out look for post season?
  9. Lafayette was definately the better team yesterday. Too bad the game was on Friday and should have been finished on Saturday. The block in the back on the punt return was obvious. The same official didn't call it on Friday night either.
  10. Shawne Lewis, Woodford County WR/DB. 15 receptions 395 yds. 4 TD. 131.7 yds per game average. Add 6 punt returns for 107 yds. 1 TD. He is a sophmore.
  11. Coach Cobb needs to pay closer attention at the KFCA clinic during the state final games. Not only was it brought up, people where asked to raise their hands and give an opinion, and the only way it was brought about was because the football advisory board recommended it. The KFCA president also sent out an e-mail to coaches to get their opinion.
  12. Woodford beat all 3. Hills has some good looking kids, they will be OK if they buy into what coach Miller is trying to teach them. Frankfort always has skilled kids, their speed will get them into the playoffs.
  13. Woodford lost to Male in overtime, beat Lexington Catholic, and beat Madisonville in pool play. They beat Franklin, TN and Eastern. Got beat by Male in the finals.
  14. Last Saturday was Male's Best of the Best. Male won Woodford County was second.
  15. My understanding was he didn't even go to weight lifting. He had one of his assistants run it. Maybe that had something to do with it?
  16. Does anyone remember how she was hired? Very similar circumstances. She was on the previous coaches staff, because he was made to put her on there. She did a fine job, but what goes around comes around.
  17. CoachJ Can you break down the projected districts and regions for the rest of the classes?
  18. If the current class system stays the way it is, it doesn't matter who coaches them, they won't win more that 3 or 4 games a year. Barrett is a very good coach. He used to be a para-pro, I don't know if things have chaqnged or not.
  19. Word is that Foley from Frankfort has applied. Anyone else?
  20. While Loftons 39 may not have been a record. These two ladies being the first EVER to play in 4 straight championship games, boys or girls,is. It will be in the Sweet 16 publication next year, guarenteed. If the KHSAA did such a great job then we wouldn't need a whole separate post for the public private debate. By the way I don't even know these girls. I was at the tournament watching Clay County, I just thought it was a huge deal.
  21. How could you say the intros were fine? The spot lights weren't even on the proper team they were announcing. If Lofton scoring 39 in a game was a record it should have been announced right after the game as a record.
  22. I'm not related to either. I enjoy girls basketball because they execute offenses, and play defense. The KHSAA does not make mistakes when it comes to their cash cow. Saturday nights pregame introductions were not acceptable in a middle school game.
  23. Your right its not a requirement, but its a nice thing to do. I would bet that it would have been mentioned for the boys sweet sixteen. Of course That just goes along with not putting the spotlight on the right team, not pronouncing names properly, and basically a lack of respect by the KHSAA for girls basketball.
  24. It was my understanding, that this weekend Nikki Davis and Anaris Sickles were the first players, male or female, to play in 4 straight state championship games. If this is the case, and I think it is, I was disappointed that there was no mention by the PA announcer. Of course the opening to the championship game was a huge disappointment, worse in 4 years. That opening would never had happened at the boys championship game.
  25. Unfortunatley, it also depends on how much her coach pushed her for the all-state team. How much publicity did she receive?
