LCA has a hired new coach, though not new to LCA. The boys coach, Jason Seamonds, is to take over the Lady Eagles.

Seamands will have a lot of young talent to work with for the next 3-4 years.

They just told her that her services were no longer needed, and that was that. No statement to the press or anyone else as to why. My best guess: Politics. Somebody important in the LCA family probably just didn't like her, for whatever reason, and making that person happy was/is more important than having a winning team (as always seems to be the case in this state).

All too often that is the case. All you have to do is make a parent or two mad and if the AD or Administration is a "people pleaser", then the coach will be gone. I think Murphy did a fantastic job with LCA and is was apparent in the wins she produced. She is nothing short of one of the best coaches (and more importantly) best people you could ever meet. Politics - all too often get in the way of coaching. No matter how you slice it, unless you can make EVERYONE happy, you can find your coaching career cut short. Best of luck to Murphy. Some program will be lucky to have her.

Murphy is certainly capable of rubbing some people the wrong way but as stated she is a very good coach. She is a qulity person as well and will be a definite asset wherever she lands.

Coach Seamands is a great coach and as great of a person. He will do well coaching the girls. He did a good job with the boys, taking them to the All A state tournament the past two years. Leading them to the semi-finals where they lost to the eventual champion, UHA in 2005. They almost pulled off an upset this year in the tournament by taking the Blazers to overtime.

Don't know much about what happened but Murphy was doing a heck of a job at Christian!!!!

Murphy is a very good coach with some great results at LCA, she will land on her feet somewhere and be a plus to that school.

 

But, the way LCA handled the naming of her as coach and how they handled asking her to leave is troublesome.

Does anyone remember how she was hired? Very similar circumstances. She was on the previous coaches staff, because he was made to put her on there. She did a fine job, but what goes around comes around.

LCA has some very good sophmores that will help lead that team this yr. Courtney Clifton is a very good player who has tons of potential !!
