Lafayette 31 Woodford Co. 27

Great job Lafayette!!!!

When play resumed, Lafayette had the ball on Woodford's 14 yard line. They scored on a 9 yard run to make the score 27-24 Woodford. After exchanging the ball a couple of times, Woodford punted to Lafayette and the returner took it to the house. The score was 31-27 Lafayette.

Lafayette made some huge stops on defense. At midfield they stopped Woodford County on 3rd and 1 and 4th and 1. Woodford then stopped Lafayette and had about a minute to try to score from deep in their own territory.

How about that block in the back on the punt return?

I heard Woodford County's coach about had a coronary on that awful non-call. Big break for Lafayette who I am told looked like the better team on Monday.

Lafayette was definately the better team yesterday. Too bad the game was on Friday and should have been finished on Saturday. The block in the back on the punt return was obvious. The same official didn't call it on Friday night either.

Lafayette's defense must have been steller in Monday night's game. They have some strong linebackers. Stephenson made some big plays from a linebacker position.

Lafayette fans, I'm sure you guys already know this, but everyday you all should consider yourself lucky you have a Coach the caliber of Mike Harmon. I had the chance to play for him at TC and he is a better man than coach, and he is a GREAT coach.

Sounds like this was a great game. By the total points scored, Lafayettes field goal kicker must have had a contribution in this one as well. Let me tell you, that guy is the real deal. Trust me, we Rebel fans know to well. Congrats to the Generals.

What if Woodford County ends up missing the playoffs again this season? Could they legitimately blame the weather for costing them a victory?!

How could the nice weather on Monday cost them anything......

Question: Was it mandatory that the game be completed? Remember, the Bryan Station/Henry Clay game was called in the third quarter and not finished at a later date.

Had Woodford County refused to finish the game on Monday (especially after the way they were treated by the Fayette County Board in allowing them to come to Lexington early Saturday morning to attempt to play), what would have happened?

They would have forfeited....
