  1. That's a beautiful arena. But it looks like the 7th place game at the Puerto Rico Shootout. That's perfect!
  2. I think NCC played with no emotion against Holmes, I do not think coach Dawn will have a problem getting them ready to play for an opportunity to go to the region finals. Don't forget he coached at St. Henry on the boys side many years ago...Ryle's pressure really hurt St. Henry they will get a big dose from the Breds...NCC+15.
  3. It is my understanding that Kyle Bennett has stepped down as the boys coach at Walton to become the AD at the school. Kyle is a great guy and I am sure he will do a great job. I have heard three names at this point from someone very close to the program, the favorite is Dan Trame who is currently the JV Girls coach, another possiblity would be Dan Sullivan but he would have to be willing to go back to the classroom and give up his asst. princ. job heard he is very interested but not sure the administration would make that move. Several people are very interested in trying to bring Steve Wright back from South Laurel. If I were a betting person I would put money on Danny Trame. Thoughts...
  4. It is a geat facility...but "zero" atmosphere. Where are all the students or do they just not go to games anymore. No Pep Bands...except for Ryle's girls game. I say take it back to the high school's. Maybe it will be better for the 10th boys.
  5. Faust is the best coach in the 9th Region, he gets the most out of his talent every year. St. Henry wins in a close one and Willie goes out with a hard fought loss.
  6. I think Boone looks past this one and gets upset, BW by 9. Dont think the Rebs have respect for the DIII Tigers.
  7. Congrats to the Pandas. Is that only twelve girls in the cheering section? That is weak support from the students. The bottom picture of Dick Maile is a good one.
  8. In life do you get to pick and choose your battles? I agree a school should be penalized for dropping out of a district and conference. Unfortunately I do not think the KHSAA has a rule on this. Several conferences have gentleman's agreements that if this happens you have to sit out for two years to allow for scheduleing issues. Calvary dropped out very late in the fall leaving all the schools on the schedule really scrambling for games, it also impacted the district. I admire schools such as Beechwood a couple of years ago when they had 8-9 players, Silver Grove this year 8-9 players for honoring a committment to the conference and district. I say schedule down, play your conference schedule and take the bottom seed in the district. I fear with smaller schools this is going to become a habit play up a couple years then drop out when you think you can't finish .500. All the NKAC DIV III schools were impacted and had to schedule mostly larger schools.:irked:
  9. The thing that seperates the Beechwood from the others in Class A is they expect to be playing in Louisville. These kids do not feel like they have accomplished anything special yet. They will work harder this week in practice than they have all year. I think it plays to the Tigers advantage to play Hazard. LCA would have come in with revenge. Hazard has to be on cloud nine just to make it. Hazard would have to play perfect and BHS would have to turn it over several times. I do not see that happening. BHS 42-14.
  10. I would put her up there with anyone in this state! This may have been her best job ever! Note to the Panda's:championships are won on the floor.
  11. Boone County, coach has been through this more than the others.
  12. In speaking with several highly rated officials in the 9th Region the problem coaches and fans might have could be with the assigning secretary. I have been told that "first year officials" are getting boys/girls jv games and some girls varsity games. I am not sure that is a good thing for the safety of the players. The good ones are always in control of the game and do a good job. I fear too much "politics" in assigning games and ratings drive out quality guys. It's a tough job to begin with but imagine having 20 years in and getting an assignment with a first year guy to do a varsity game, thats thankless!
  13. They can hire whomever they want. I think that the head coach of Football probably would have to be in the classroom, or at least the building. There is too many responsibilities on a daily basis for this to not happen. I know at this particular school that we are talking about, that is very much wanted. Also, Bob Burnett did not turn down the job. Take that to the bank. :sssh:
  14. Maybe during the lawsuit they were a little less than 100% on board. However, recently Bob Burnett has been his biggest supporter and wanted him to stay on. As for getting his teaching job back, there was no position available for him, Mike resigned. I wish Coach Yeagle the best, but for some to state that he is involved with other schools at this point may be a bit premature.
  15. Very doubtful. If he ever coaches again, and that is a big "IF", it will be locally.
  16. Doubt he would take the pay cut. Isn't he a current Principle? I do know that at one time Dan and Mike were very close.
