Any thoughts on the 9th region opener?

Beechwood by 3 :scared:

Boone by 9

I believe Boone pulls it out, but Beechwood makes it interesting.

Close through the first 3 quarters but then Boone ends up winning by double digits.

Boone by 14. Beechwood's only chance is to be lights out from 3 for the entire game. I still say Boone wins regardless. Rebs will not be denied in the opener.

BW by 5.

Boone by 7

Just don't think Beechwood has the horses to keep up Boone by 18

Beechwood will have to get a whole lot of their players to pull this off. They will definately have to shoot the ball better than they did the finals of the 35th.

Think BW matches up well with Boone.

Boone doesn't shoot very well from the perimeter so BW has to cut off penetration and stop transition. They have the athletes to play with Boone. They just have to stay out of foul trouble because the bench is short. However, Boone's bench isn't overly long either.

I agree and I think it will be a close game, but Beechwood will be exhausted by the end of the 4th which will hurt them.

I think Beechwood could pull this one out if they are hitting well from the outside and can contain Gabbard from penetrating.

I also think this is a game that could be very interesting. An upset is possible. But then again Boone has looked very good all year long. I think the difference in this game is the PG position. Who will handle the ball with more care? Who doesn't turn it over more? Who puts better pressure on the opposition.

 

Gabbard is the best TRUE point guard I've seen in the 9th this season. He reminds me a lot of some othe past good ones in the 9th and I see him leading this group to the finals.

I have seen both teams this season and the PG match-up should be a classic. Buettel is more of an offensive threat with the 3 ball, while Gabbard is the better passer and gets inside the lane better.

 

To me, the difference is inside. Can Smith stay out of foul trouble on Earls? Beechwood has the talent to compete and if the shots are falling, the Rebels are in for a dog fight.
