  1. Defenses are definatly more educated + have gotten better. That being said if you have better atheltes + get them in space then good luck stopping it!
  2. I figured since Bell Co couldn't keep up w Central Belfry would probably have trouble too.
  3. Or let the Adults get out of the way and the kids enjoy playing high school football since they will never get it back :-)!
  4. He was my weightlifting teacher in college lol. I'll jump on that waggon!
  5. \ I've still never met LRCW. I'd like too because I respect him. That is funny though lol.
  6. That's a great assesment from somebody else that has actually watched him play + not from JC. There are a couple of things that stand out to me with JJ. That is that he has great vision, breaks tackles+most of all has great low pad level. He seems to always be moving forward. Imgaine if he was in a spread offesnse where everybody in the stadium isn't focused on him. JJ has done it with everybody keying on him. Like Tus said he is a great young man off the field. JC has a lot to be proud of with the way JJ has represented their program!
  7. Personally I like it. I think the cream of the crop almost always rises. There were lower seeded teams that won. In the big scheme of things this is one more week that high school kids don't have free time on their hands to get into trouble instead they get to play another week with their best friends under the lights one last time. For some kids memeories were made this weekend. You can't take that away from them. There's only 6 teams that win state each year. For the rest it's all about the journey with their boys they grew up with!
  8. Thanks for the clarification. I thought he was a slot back that played in and out of the backfield. I just see him vs that Male pressure D catching the wheel down the sideline from Brohm. He was a great ball player. I think from this thread it looks like Alexander+Frisk. Frisk is the best I saw in high school. Shelton was the best specimen.
  9. I told people this game would be closer than people think that haven't seen Knox. They have had a solid team the last 3 or so years. Really big Dline+Canady is a nice athlete. Not suprised at all by the score. I think Boyle will beat Rock a lot worse than Knox. Rock's banged up I think.
  10. I echo that. Mark's a great guy! I'm really anxious to see how the Ashland/Cov Cath game turns out. I think this is the best Ashland team I've seen since around 1990.
  11. Tough season for Prestonsburg because of injuries. I honestly think they were good enough to play on the carpet when they were full strength. They got DRILLED by the injury bug this season and it's too bad. They had a ton of balance on off when healthy. They have a great thing going there in Prestonsburg. Great physical athletes that are very well coached. Congrats to Danville+best of luck on your season!
  12. Congrats to JJ Jude and his Oline over the last few years. That is a heck of a lot of yards on one set of legs. You should be proud of yourself. You'll find in life that anytime you do great things there will always be haters. You have made your program + county proud. As a coach from a neighboring county it has been refreshing seeing a kid play as hard as you play and do it with class! Best of luck in your future! I have no idea on offers but pretty sure he has a full ride to Virginia Tech to wrestle. I might be wrong but seems like they offered last year. He's a really strong kid+heck of a wrestler too.
  13. Frisk was the 1st that popped into my mind. I didn't get to see Alexander. Some others: Britt (Danville), West (Lawrence Co), Shelton (Bryan Station), Al Baker, Berger (Beechwood), Howard (Belfry), Thomas (Ashland), Fugate (Breathitt), Reagan (Rockcastle), McShara (Boyle), Jude (Johnson Central), Anderson (St X), Bush (Male) best player ever from KY IMO he played everywhere, McBroom (Trinity), Pinner those are just some off my head. Frisk was the best I think I've seen though.
  14. Wish I'd seen this thread earlier. My nephew is a starting running back for Paintsville and made it to the championship game. I'd like to thank the people that put this on. It was an amazing experience for the kids + memories they will have for a lifetime. Some of the kids haven't been out of their little town. They were able to not only win on Sat but take the kids to the UK football game Sat night. Some of them tried to get a picture with Joker (especially one of the little guys that's never exeprienced hardly anything) but he turned them down. Anyways for a lot of those kids it was an experience of a lifetime. Congrats to the Pulaski schools. It's incredible how much talent they have in that county! Somerset might have beaten some of the high school teams I've seen. They were big, outstanding running back and very very well coached! Their secondary rolled to motion better than a lot of high school teams I've seen + they had a nice passing game where the QB sometimes worked to his 3rd progression. They were very coached up!
  15. So when is the 5 supposed to come out now?
  16. I think you also have to look at the big picture on that one. Johnson Central was a catch away from beating Highlands in the playoffs which is not something many people can say. They were able to play with Highlands because of a kid like JJ Jude which takes all of the other teams focus. I apprecaite you posting. I couldn't remember what he had vs Highlands.
  17. I understand where you are coming from and I consider you a friend on here. I just hate to see him have so much criticism thrown his way. The few times I've seen him around the younger kids he seems like a great kid. I have also seen him several times against some nice programs who know he's getting the rock + he has lived up to the hype. I would venture to guess most of the record holders have gotten the ball at times they might not should have. I also am pretty sure he's had games where he had under 10 carries but blew up the yards. Seems like one of the 1st games this year he carried like 7 times for 300 plus yards. End of the day I'm happy for JJ. He's always been a class act when I've seen him+ always put his team on his back even when coaches know he's getting the ball. He plays with great low pad level. Always driving forward+ outstanding vision/latteral jump cut movement. Best of luck to him chasing his record. I get what you are saying if they are padding stats when they are way up. I doubt he's the only kid on that list where that's happened.
  18. You get over it man. You're one of my favorite posters on here but why try to run a good kid into the ground on here for something he has no control of? He goes all out the way he should. He's had nice games vs nice opponents over the last few years. I've watched him. He's legit. I understand what you are saying about leaving him in but I just think it's bush smearing a kids thread. I also would venture to say Derek Homer had a lot of carries to get his yardage too vs a lot of smaller schools. I'd like to know what he rushed for vs Cov Cath, Highlands or some of the other big schools. I'd ventrue to say he's been in triple digits in about all those games with everybody in the house knowing he's getting the ball.
  19. Gosh I hate that. He is a really nice high school athelte and his dad is a great man! Prayers are with him.
  20. The adults on here are right. What the heck is this 18 year old kid thinking running the ball when he is told too. Why doesn't he revolt+ refuse to go in the game or carry the ball when his number is called? Good grief people get over yourself! Be happy for a kid that has obviously worked his tail end of to become a great high school running back. A lot of those yards are against some very good football teams! He doesn't have the cream of the crop surrounding him like a running back at LOUISVILLE Trinity or Highlands does either! Pretty sure nobody in Johnson Co cares about who carries the ball for Trinity or Highlands! Shame on "Johnsonville" or Johnson Central in the middle of little old Paintsville in Johnson Co for having one of the best running backs in the history of the state. That should never happen! Congrats JJ. You have a lot of adults at opposing schools that know how hard you have worked + appreciate the way you play the game! I've had my go rounds with some Johnson Central people but this kid deserves all the praise he can get. They've played some good teams the last few years. Teams know he's getting the ball. He goes out and gets the job done! That's all you can ask of a kid!
  21. I'd like to tip my hat to Coach Haywood on becoming the winningest coach in KY high school history. He is a class act, Belfry has top notch facilities + he runs a top notch program. I know this sounds crazy but I've been around this Lawrence Co program off and on for almost 20 years. I feel like we have an opportunity in front of us to grow in a way that I'm not sure I've ever felt. I expect us to roll up our sleeves+get to work to get this program back on track one practice at a time! Time to raise the bar+get to work! Congrats to Belfry!
  22. How many games like that did Homer play while we are taking shots at this kid? Against what kind of competition did Homer play when he set the record? Ft Knox was 2A right? Jude has been playing 5A and 4A which means more depth usually. People can speculate all you want but if you have seen this kid play in person he is legit. Low pad level, great vision + always falling forward. This is coming from somebody that's never been a huge JC fan.
  23. I don't know coach well enough and I'm not going to comment on him either way. I keep seeing Jude's name pop up and I will say after watching him play vs some REALLY good competition he is a phenominal high school running back that deserves all the accolades he gets. Hate to see him get drug through the mud. He's a high school kid that has obviously worked his tail end off if you look at what he's done in the weight room. His pads are always moving forward!
  24. I remember that GRC team. That was a great run!
  25. Congrats to Bolin! Great he can get that out of the way + focus on chasing a state championship! First Lex Cath's Justin Burke QB'ed there now Bolin. Nice little pipeline started.
