Belfry Wins

I watched every game in the tournament and he wont ride the pine lol. And it was for hanging on the rim they called it, the ref was onto him all game, they didnt like him. But this team did put on a show, and the way they played int he tourney no KY team could have beat them. Patterson was the leading scorer the first game. WV tournament is awesome, I have been to Kentucky and WV and WV is so fun, you would be suprised, I seen alot of Kentucky folks at the games.

I got a friend who did and made the put for double eagle no joke. He can kill a ball though, one of the best ball strikers I have seen when straight and that day it was all straight. I forget how long it is its like 6something but up hill.

Here is what I have been told by talking to three of my buddy coaches, which is Hayrood, Matney, and Hager. They all said they had a very hard time finding games and those three are mountain powers.

May God have mercy on the 13th region, they get our refs lol. God bless their hearts. We have a couple good ones, but not much haha.

Yeah was a good game, the reason I think the game was sloppy was the refs let them play more physical. They didnt call crap either way. And then they would slap a couple touchy fouls in, bad game both ways. I think both teams played on tonight though just got made to look a little sloppy. It really hurt Belfry not having Deskins in the second quarter as she was getting bandedged up from the blood and we only scored five points, and three came from her in the last minute when she got back. Good game though and congrats Terry you lit it up tonight.

Elliot County is one I think will be very very good, Paintsville will be also.

I dont like the idea, but they do need to be smaller numbers allowed in the tournament. And Im not saying that in regards to any certain team, Sheldon Clark competed in it, they have always been a small 3a to a large 2a school. Def make the numbers smaller I think.

This thread is beating a dead horse in a sense becasue its all on a personal opinion. I think the top two players are Gray and Queen. I do feel Gray is the better play,event hough Queen is amazing to watch. They both are hard workers and give it thier all and either girl would represent Kentucky well but i believe Gray is the slightly better player, and that is no slight to Queen, because she is amazing.

South Charleston is very loaded. I will take SC by around 20 points.

Phelps is the most underated team in the 15th region. they are defintley a top 10 and maybe higher. Hunt and Gannon is two of the best players in the region. I recomend everyone watching Phelps play, they are a very good ball team. They will pull some upsets this year, and I believe get in the regional tournament.

From what I understand Belfry played very well. I think they were fatigued a little in the end from the trip this morning. Belfry has some good girls and a great coach, they will give it their all. To all the 16th regional folks taht have seen Belfry play, what do you think about them, and what do you think of their chances of winning the 15th? I have seen all the favorites play but Valley and I feel Belfry is the better and smarter team, and defintley the quicker. If they get their size going then watch out. You have to remember Belfry leading scorer today is a sophomore.

Belfry shot 5 more free throws than Russell did, and as far as the tired excuse goes Belfry played four games also. Give credit to were credit is due Belfry had alot more speed and created the open shots. Belfry has a nice team and will seriously make a run in the 15th. I have seen every team and by the end of the year makr it down this will be the team to beat. Belfry forced Russell into 23 turnover and only committed 13 theirself. And Russell was bigger at every position and only outrebounded Belfry by 4. That is your ball game. Also congrats to Paige Thacker, she is a girl that needs to step up and be physcial. She is a 6'0 Sophomore center and tonight she scored 14 points. Russell has a great team, but when this Belfry team plays together they are for real.

Belfry held Chloe to 6 points by the way. Russleville was lead by Nokia Danielle with 21 points, and five three pointers. Belfry was led by Shae Deskins with 19, Amanda Moon with 13, Nikki Robinette with 12 and Megan Staten, shes only a freshman, with 11 points.

Belfry won by 30. Belfry plays Russell tomarow.

Did JBS play an off game at the expo when they played? They were a good team and Stepp is a great player which shoots to much. The team I saw at the expo would have a rough time with Pikeville or Shelby Valley. They must have not been in top of their game.

Yeah Pikeville is good but Belfry shot awful. They couldnt make an open look. Give credit to Pikeville's defense but Belfry jsut wasnt hitting the three at all tonight. These two teams are fairly evenly matched though. Congrats Pikeville you guys have a great team. The scary thing about Belfry is they havent had time to even get in basketball shape yet with most playing football. Also in a few games Chad Steele will be back and that will be huge underneath.

Yeah win or loose I enjoy reading them they will be at Belfryfor their tournament and probably play before maybe even in game one. I dont think its final yet. But I enjoy reading. He didnt make nothign bad abotu Flemming they are struggling this year, cant deny that. But I do wish them a sppedy recovery.

THey talked earlier but Bell schedule didnt meet Belfrys opening and it just couldnt be worked out. From what I hear Belfry has finalized their schedule now just havent got all the contracts back. I heard our last two games are at East Jessimine and then we host Johnson Central. But I do think down the road most Belfry and Bell fans would like to see this rivarly revisited. I mean I have nothing but respect for them and always cheer for you guys and would be honored to have Belfry get to play them again. I miss the old Belfry and Bell games.

I wished they could have worked out a game with us. That would have been a great game for fans and helpful to both teams.

Did you know Belfry scheduled tryed to schedule Bell and they wouldnt because of distance. But yet after that they scheduled a game at Sheldon Clark. And that isnt false information came from the head of Belfrys' staff. I dont know why they didnt want that game and Im not saying they are chicken or nothing but that game would have been a great home-away game with two traditioned teams.

They are decent but JB was intimidated by Magoffin because Magoffin realy tried to play physical pushing and shoving. Also Stepp I think is his name # 12 had 40 points.

Who you think will beat them? They have a reallye asy schedule, easier than most fans want them to have.

Its not I just think it will be more so than usual this year because you get a couple more games. I mean look at Prestonburg schedule they will be ok but not great but they should be undefeated with their schedule.

Belfry 3a's dostroct os SC, Pike Central, and East Ridge. I think the same mountain teams that dominate will still dominate. You just will see some teams that arent as good with real good records due to easy non district schedule and better teams with worse records because teams like Corbin, Belfry, Bell and Rock (just naming a few) will get out and play some tuff games earlya nd might take a couple lumps but they will still dominate.

First congrats to Mercer Co. They were dealt an advantage but they couldnt help that. Would they have won 3a? They more than likely would not have but you know what they were playing in 2a and was undefeated and won it. I think to prove that they could have been just as competitive in 3a they needed to beat Russell worse. On top of that Russell had the turnovers or it could have been a different game. And Im not taking anything away from Mercer because in 2a they were as good as anyone.
