  1. Yeah I knew coming in their speed was the biggest factor against us. It makes it harder to runt hat outside option with that speed, however the tight option was working well. What suprises me is with their speed their pass coverage is their week point.
  2. Here is a question I have, and to all Central fans Im not trying to take anything away from your guys victory you deserved it, they were bad calls yeah, but you guys earned the victory. But what do you think about splitting ref crews up to do games with different people? I think that would add to he nerves, because when I work with a co-worker for so long we become a team and cohesive in the way we do things, and I would imagine that would be the same for a ref crew, it def. would take me a little out of my comfort zone, which isn't good considering Id already be shaking from the game haha.
  3. I don't really think they were the harder hitting team. They just had more speed. May had some big gains up the middle, but Belfry killed themselves with penalties. The thing that impresses me most about Central is their speed. They were a well-rounded team that is big, strong and fast. But I think their speed was the difference maker Friday.
  4. Yeah I talked with a KHSAA rep during the game and he was telling me he couldn't believe some of the calls. He saw what I saw two miss pass interferance calls, and when they called Belfry offsides when they drew Central off. He didn't like those missed at a state game. But ya know what we still should have executed better and we would have had nothing to worry about, we got out and forced several turnovers, and our defense did well for the most part, you just cant play the way Belfry did with costly mistakes, penalties against a good team. By the way big congrats to central, you guys outplayed Belfry no doubt about it, and to all juniors and below let this be a lesson to you, remember wheat loosing feels like and do everything in your power to not let it happen next season.
  5. They will hit you I have no doubt about that, I have seen both teams on film, and if you look at my post I think this one will be a pretty decent game, but Belfry will outhit Central. St X was not one of the games I seen, I know it was 14-7 at half, but at what point did the X-Men Runningback go down, I know they scored most of their second half points by air, I'm just curious on that?
  6. Do you find that to be true on feild turf? I think it might be to a extent depending on the offenses but not as much as it would on a grass field.
  7. Knowing Jim its hard to tell, but it is defiantly a possiblility sicne his family has been part of Belfry since it started.
  8. Snot bubble hitting, I love the way you put that, but you are right, teams never really see physical teams until they get hit by teams like a Belfry, Johnson Central, Ashalnd, or a Bell County. Some mountain teams know how to lay the wood to ya.
  9. I will say this, SC might have not played the best schedule in the world, but a healthy SC was a very very very good football team.
  10. From my understanding, it came from Jim Matneys uncle or great uncle one, the man was from Pitsburgh and put Pirates in the hat of names because of the baseball team and that was chosen. I was told that by Mr Matney himself one day when he was talking about his heritage with Belfry.
  11. I'm undecided if I want them to go undefeated or not, but I am not a bout to cheer for the Ravens, Eagles, or Raiders, cant stand none of them, but every team is tested in the NFL, the Ravens laid it on the line, I dont like them but I give them credit.
  12. Highlands is a running team that likes to use speed over power this year though aren't they? Which even on the turf the speed is still nto hurt as bad during the rain. It could possibly help Belfry running the ball. But I think on the turf it dont really matter, it's simple run or throw hold on to the football.
  13. Us and Highlands have had some intense battles over the days.
  14. Free foood, well I will be there.............dang we got a game haha. I'm really looking forward to a fun weekend of football.
  15. You dang Private schools to tight to give abnything away lol.
  16. Yeah I know their story kind of and I got a lot of respect for them, but this boy aint a pulling for them lol, but for a small fee I can wear a Rocks shirt Saturday haha.
  17. I can buy you picking them, but I'm sorry if it comes down to coaching then I will be very very very very happy, because we got Philip Haywood. I have watched some Central film and done my fair share of research, here is my honest opinion, Belfry is still more physical than them. They have a heck of at eam though and very easily pullt he upset. They got some nice speed and their QB plays real well. I think though Belfry will provide some things they have yet to be seen which is the case when it comes to this point of season, both ways. Belfry has to play ball, and I can assure you although some fans are looking ahead, I was around the team a little bit earlier and they are focused. As for them having a short drive, that is fine. But that wont be a factor, for one Belfry will go down early Thursday and eat and then go get plenty of rest, they are guarded tight by coaching staff while in their rooms at night, so that could be a advantage to the Pirates, which I say the Yellow Jacket players will do the same to. But Im telling you this will be a pretty good game, the difference, Belfry will wear them down at the end.
  18. Yeah but at the same point you dont physically get your tail whipped for four quarters in any game even when your better, you know what I mean by that? And JC whipped LC, but it will be a fun game and we shall see what happens.
  19. Yeah you and everybody in Jackson would hope to make them pass. Elkins has the capability to burn you guys with the pass, not on a 3rd and long but maybe a suprise on second or first down, if Haywood would allow it. The thing that Breathitt has going though is it is so hard to get a pass off with 10 people running at you. But if you can suprise them and get it off then watch out, and that is a big if. I have so much respect for Breathitt and what they have accomplished, you guys be carefull on the trip down.
  20. I was listening to West Virginia State Sportline radio show earlier and they said it had just came across wire that Rutgers accepted the invitation.
  21. I highly doubt the thunder will be going off tomorow night, last two times they brought it but they weren't allowed to fire it. So my guess would be it wont be fired, and if it is allowed to be fired hopefully it is just when they come out on the field, meaning Belfry would win haha.
  22. Ohh yeah I forgot about that one, it was my sophomore year, I would rate it and Breathitt about equal, they both packed a good bang.
  23. You would honestly be suprised, but those two have worked really hard in the offseason and are much improved, Ivan is a lot more physical than he was last season, and May is a little bigger and a little quicker. Plus the line is much improved and several other backs have picked up the game, and on top of that another year of experience never hurts. So I would honestly say you would be suprised at how much better this offense has improved from the Russell game alst year, to this point this season.
  24. The cannon crew at Breathitt does a good job. They are pretty loud, next to Highlands this is probably the best cannon Kentucky High School has, atleast out of the ones I have heard.
