Never minded this one much. It's the one below that grates on me. -
Popular/Successful Singer You Can't Stand

Not that I’m aware of. I just hate how he sounds on that stupid song, which gets played all the time on the in-store play at the bar I moonlight at. -
Like GT, I have had a chance to meet bunches of them through work. Some of the best didn’t come through work, though. I met Ali in the early 90s when I was doing community service at the Girls’ Club in Bowling Green. He was deteriorating but still had good wits about him. Like Deuce said, that aura ... Ran into Pete Rose fairly regularly at Turfway back in the day, exchanging handicapping tips. That was a situation where whatever luster he still had after the ban quickly melted away, just two degenerate gamblers talking shop. When Ken Griffey Jr. was first traded to the Reds, he came into the Best Buy in Florence where I worked at the time and we talked for a few minutes. He had once roomed with an old roommate of mine at a HS all-star game. Also met Bill Clinton when he campaigned for Hillary in 08, but the conversation did not last 30 seconds. That was work-related, though.

My old eye doctor put me on a trial pair of multi-focal lenses a few years ago and they were unusable for me. Made my eyes water like crazy. So I just keep readers with me when I wear contacts, which is only about half the time. I mostly use contacts when I have to be outside in the sun and need shades.

“You rang, sir?” So yeah, here’s the top of the list: Don Henley Axl Rose Garth Brooks Those are my worst offenders. I’ve also developed a pretty stout hate of John Anderson, even though I like some of his songs. But too much exposure to his incessantly and overly nasally and awful “Seminole Wind” makes me want to choke him. -
We have a BWR in Bardstown and theirs are pretty good. I love the roasted garlic sauce, and I usually get way more than I can eat in one setting because I like to re-sauce them and slow-smoke them as an app when I’m doing longer-term cooks (ribs, pork butts, etc). But my regular local place in town is what used to be called Rebecca’s Pepperoni Grill and now is known as Bourbon City Brick Oven Pizza (or something to that effect) has hands-down the best wings in town. The Asian zing and spicy garlic are favorites, but they recently added some new styles such as a Cajun dry-rub (breaded or naked, both are good), and a Nashville Hot that I need to try. Plus they’re 2 bucks off during happy hour.

What event did you attend that had the loudest crowd pop?

For me it was KISS at Freedom Hall in ‘96 for the second show on the reunion makeup tour. It felt like 1976. -
Bethlehem - 2019 Schedule
Jim Schue replied to Colonels_Wear_Blue's topic in KY Football (High School)
On another note, the Bethlehem school campus is extremely land-locked. They have a gym connected to the school, and a weight room around the corner. Football, soccer and softball have been played back behind St. Monica church a few blocks away for as long as I know. Baseball used to be on the campus of St. Joe MS until it moved to county-owned Dean Watts Park, the site of local LL baseball, softball and football, about a decade ago. The new athletic complex is closer to Thomas Nelson HS than Bethlehem HS. -
Bethlehem - 2019 Schedule
Jim Schue replied to Colonels_Wear_Blue's topic in KY Football (High School)
First phase is football/track and softball with grandstand and fieldhouse. Later on there will be tennis courts, indoor archery range, baseball and practice fields. That will be a few years down the road as they will have to do another big fundraising campaign to cover those costs. -

First-ever meeting for NC and Bethlehem, and that will be the night they dedicate the new field. -

I need to go out and check it out. Last time I was at the new athletic complex was right before they laid down the carpet. It's going to be really nice once everything is complete. -

I'm not sure if there was ever any discussion as far as what the mascot would be when Bethlehem started admitting boys in the early '70s. The Eagles nickname is a nod to the old St. Joe Prep Eagles, the all-boys boarding school that closed in 1968. -

Potato salad, especially red-skinned potato salad. Some 20 years ago, a very truthful article appeared on the fake news site The Onion about how 84 percent of the world's cole slaw goes uneaten, and usually can be found deposited behind fast-food chicken and fish places. I always bring that up for jokes whenever I'm visiting the folks and mom is making up some homemade slaw.

It's almost certainly not anything intended for high-end labels. That stuff all comes out of the Booker Noe plant in Boston in Nelson Co. Knob Creek, Baker's, Booker's, Basil. Some of the Knob Creek comes out of Clermont, the way I understand it, and I think a lot of what they do there is for higher-end versions of the Beam label, such as Black, Single Barrel, and I think a lot of the flavored stuff. That stuff aging in Frankfort will likely end up as white label low-rent and perhaps lesser-profile labels. What I read about it is that it was extremely young, meaning it probably had barely taken on any coloring from the barrels.

Historic Fantasy Football Seasons

Cam Newton in '15, and to a lesser degree the freakout that Doug Baldwin had after I got him on the waiver wire. And the Cardinals defense for that one fateful week they sprung 39 on the Pack and lifted me to a one-point win over our gracious founder. -
Remembering Jared Lorenzen
