  1. A 1976 98 Olds. Big, massive car and engine — 455 four-barrel. It hovered. It was originally silver with blue trim, but dad had it painted all blue and we called it The Bluesmobile.
  2. I’ve seen “Shawn Of The Dead,” and I have lots of vinyl records.
  3. Not surprised Bardstown won, but the margin as people were sending me updates shocked me.
  4. Danville had 201 total yards, but marched backward 125 in penalties. After Burns' big outburst last week v. John, the Tigers held him to 68 yards on 22 carries. Bardstown had 217 total yards, but 97 in penalties. Tereylin Calbert had his second game in a row with a kickoff return score and a receiving touchdown. He caught seven balls for 152 yards, including a 93-yarder from Brady Clark, who was 10-15 with 164 yards, 1 INT and 1TD.
  5. That over of 58 was crazy. I told everyone I knew to play the under.
  6. I won a door prize a few months back at this bar I’m a regular at. The package was 50 yard line seats and full access to Brown&Williamson Club. Do these tix get me there, for those who know?
  7. I’ve always been a Little Debbie guy.
  8. Not gonna lie: After first reading this thread a couple days ago, I found myself in a store and picked up a box of Swiss Cake Rolls.
  9. Actually, in the final poll Scott Co. is ranked twice this week, in 6A and 5A!
  10. This game was played at Nelson Co. I didn’t realize until earlier this week that SC was building a new field and will play all their home games at NC. For those tied to SC, what are their plans? Are they switching to turf?
  11. Most decidedly. On top of that, some folks wait too long to cut it and the same dilemma is in play.
  12. Potato pack and grilled asparagus. I have to be careful, though, as the steak+asparagus is a double whammy on the gout. Triple when you consider I'm definitely drinking beers.
  13. I haven't seen them as closely as Hearsay, but that defense looks like it's gonna be nasty. And the offense should be a lot better with mostly everyone back and more mature physically.
  14. I'll check out how Bethlehem looks against Providence, Ind., as they debut on their new turf field. Some wild storms rolled through last night and did some damage to the still-under-construction fieldhouse and I think kicked up some of the rubber pellets with the wind, but I've been told it's ready to go. I'll also check out Washington Co. v. Nelson Co. for what may or may not be the first time those schools have ever met. Still trying to figure that part out. If they have played, it's been a loooooong time.
  15. I know it was a big shake-up for me locally but I finally got what I wanted with an all-local D3 with E'town, LaRue, B'town, Nelson Co. and TNHS. Even though Bardstown has been in control in the rivalry with NC in the past decade, it's still always a great local game for fans, and with there now being playoff implications on the line, it becomes even bigger. Still not sure why NC was still trying to slug it out in 5A after the TNHS split. Almost destroyed the program.
  16. I'm all about some Dairy Cheer smashburger action when I'm over that way. Chirico's is very good. Very cool place in downtown P'ville. Is The Station still open?
  17. I always heard that was the case for the Bracken Polar Bears also, but it seems like that name would come up in Alaska and other cold-weather states some. I love the story about how Somerset became the Briar Jumpers. Love that rabbit mascot.
  18. Sorry. Meant to check it last night but I was working late and forgot about it.
  19. It’s all good. We don’t want you and MC “Scrapple” Papa to like it anyway. It’s our thing. Like goetta.
  20. Along those same lines, I would figure out where the nearest Dixie Chili is.
