I heard 4 players for B’town won’t be playing against Warren East. Lots of people asking me today “were you there?” I have no idea which players because I was not there.

Corley caught 4TD passes, including a long one just before half right after Bethlehem scored to pull within 15-10 with about a minute left.

When it comes to high-level teams, with depth and talent at multiple positions, it's usually about certain individual matchups and style of play strengths v. weaknesses.

Just got back — I’m still drying out, covered in mosquito bites, but none the worse for wear. Still trying to process what went down. Eminence got off to a fast start, and was able to go into halftime up 30-7 after a pick-6 on a wet ball that bounced off the receiver’s hands. They led 44-13 with just under 4:00 to play in the 3rd. The Eagles’ offense, defense and special teams came to life after that, and with 2:54 to play they had come all the way back. Eminence was able to burn some clock, but fumbled it away on a 4th-and-inches play on a bad handoff exchange, giving Bethlehem the ball back at midfield with 1:19 left. Three straight Eagle incompletions and a penalty led to a 4th-and-long, which they converted with a diving one-armed catch. Warriors broke up three straight passes to make it 4th/10 from the 22 with 19 sec left. Warriors have it covered, so Bethlehem QB Ryan Mattingly takes off and gets close. Refs bring out the chains and he’s just short, denying one last try for the miracle comeback with 8 seconds left. Some kind of crazy game that was.

Anybody use the TBS app on iPad or other Apple devices? If so, do you have issues with it working? Was trying to watch the playoff game tonight on my iPad through the TBS app, and it would either go in an endless loop with the "loading" circle (with the actual game playing live in the background), or it would say I'm blacked out in my area, even though I had already signed in through my cable company. I had to go back to my office (2 1/2 blocks away, not a major hassle, but still) to get my laptop to see if it would work, and it has so far, knock on wood. I've had trouble with TBS and its affiliates in the past when trying to watch online on my laptop too.

Still hanging at $2.51 in Bardstown and has been for weeks. Nice to not have to deal with that volatility you guys do. No spike in prices for Bourbon Festival week, either. I'm trying to think of a scenario in any other city/town in Ky where the gas-sellers wouldn't take ridiculous advantage of the extra traffic of 60,000 people coming to a town of a quarter that size for a festival. My local carryout — where I mostly get my gas and which is also the local driver of gas prices — did, unfortunately, hit the customers on a different end by bumping the price of an 18-pack of Bud/Bud Light by two bucks, so I guess they made out OK.

WC had a bounce from last week’s last-seconds win over TNHS. Big bounce. Good win for the Knights.

Saw one for the atrocious price of $2.59 today. Guess I better fill up.

Still in the $2.51-2.53 range in Bardstown. Been there for a while.

Cougars got a pick-6 on the Eagles' first play of the game, then scored four more times to go up 35-0 just 30 seconds into the second quarter.

55-21 was the final. LC’s big-play ability was too much.

I was at that game in '03, and it never remotely threatened becoming a running clock game. I think Waggener's largest lead was 3TDs, but it might have been 4. Waggener had the quick-strike offense and S/T with Alfonso Smith leading the way, and they got off to a very good start with PC having a couple early miscues. Pulaski was much bigger and deeper, though, and just wore the Wildcats down as things went on. 82-68 was the final score.

From the updates I was getting, Tigers were up most of the 1st half but Scotties got 2 TDS just before half. Neither team scored after halftime. Was told BHS had a KO return TD called back. Heard it was a tough, physical game.

I don’t want this to sound like I’m cracking on FHS, because I have a lot of respect for the school and its historic accomplishments, and having been friends with folks tied to the school for 20+years I am familiar with a lot of its struggles as far as losing athletes to transfers. I didn’t count more than 7-8 reserves on the sidelines v. TNHS on Friday. Those guys were warriors out there dealing with that soupy weather and the TNHS front line, which was short on depth after losing two multi-year starters in the preseason, but still bigger and deeper.

I don’t have the sheet nearby, but it seems like it was 15-4 with TN getting 3 of those on their final drive. I think it was either 3 or 4 against FHS on the XP after TN got the go-ahead score.

Kind of surprised by the margin here.

Key play that came back to haunt Frankfort was when TNHS scored the go-ahead TD midway through the third. FHS went offsides 3 (or was it 4?) times and TNHS was able to walk it in for the deuce. Frankfort immediately answered a few plays later but was stuffed trying for the conversion to tie.

Frankfort’s lack of depth killed them late. TNHS got the ball back up 2 with about 8:00 to play and never gave it back up again. Dale Satterly’s first-down run on 4th and 10 from the FHS 26 sealed it.

7-7 halftime
