Knowing no details, this is a pretty good performance by a really young Bardstown club at a good Glasgow team.

From the updates I was getting, Tigers were up most of the 1st half but Scotties got 2 TDS just before half. Neither team scored after halftime. Was told BHS had a KO return TD called back. Heard it was a tough, physical game.

Just got back. This was a very physical, confrontational game. Glasgow has Division 1 talent and was the more imposing and physically superior team. Bardstown was the junkyard dogs. I think the Tigers intercepted Tanner Abernathy 4 times, and forced several fumbles. Bardstown also fumbled the ball several times and just had difficulty connecting on passes. The difference in the game was penalties. I don't have anything official, but I know the Tigers were double digit penalties for at least 150 yards. 1 holding penalty called back a 65 yard TD run. We also fumbled it away on the Glasgow 2 yard line in the late 3rd quarter. The Scotties were only penalized a couple of times, and probably rushed, on the game, for close to 300 yards.

 

I have to give a special shout out to Little Hearsay, he is a two-way player who was matched up all night long against Alabama commit OT Tanner Bowles, and LH held his own. Had a few tackles but more importantly kept Bowles off of his teammates. Bowles is a very good offensive lineman. Nick Saban knows what he's doing. The two of them embraced after the game. Class move by a D1 player that didn't have to do that. I have never seen my son more physically exhausted.

 

Bottom line - no moral victories, made too many mistakes to win. On to Marion County next week.
