  1. Yes indeed. Two of their three games last year went to OT, including the district championship. The one game that didn't was an 11-point Bardstown win where several key Bethlehem players were out with the flu.
  2. I'm more impressed with the 61-for-85 shooting on deuces (almost 72%). They can't have all been layups. There also must have been some other 100pt scorers in there.
  3. Famous Jameis became the QB 30/30 Club founder today. He already eclipsed 30 TDs going into today's game, but needed two INTs to set the benchmark. His second of the game came in OT for a game-losing pick-six. That particular pick-six was his seventh of the year, breaking the old record set by someone named Rudy Bukich and later tied by Peyton Manning (which I find hilarious). Winston passed for 5,109 yards, which is 8th most of all time. The last time a QB reached 30 INTs in a season was in 1988, when Vinny Testaverde gave it up 35 times, second-most in history in a season. Who's first? George Blanda, who was picked off 42 times in 1962. Stats are strange, and strangely fascinating.
  4. I'm a little late to this thread, but after going 1-5 to start the season and 1-24 year last year, Coach Michael Menifee and his Nelson Co. Cardinals are 7-6, having won their home tourney and getting to the finals at Russell Co. before falling to Glasgow. This was a very young team last year and still is this year, with just one senior and one junior, and most everyone else freshman and middle-schoolers, some of whom also started last year.
  5. Won't matter much if there's not much administration support. And that's been in short supply in the NC system for about a decade now.
  6. I can't find anything about the GLCFA All-Star Game Sunday at DeSales. Can anybody help?
  7. Generally not a big fan of Christmas music, as my prior years working in retail spoiled it for me. But I get a kick out of Christmas songs re-interpreted in interesting ways. The other day I heard a version of "Oh Holy Night" done cowpunk style by the great Jason and The Scorchers that was really cool.
  8. If I had actually been actively trying to throw the game I couldn’t have possibly flubbed up worse than I did this week. Ugh.
  9. Ugh. WhyOhWhy did I overthink things and stream Jets D and Darnold? Ugh.
  10. Schools in our 3A district were spoiled this year, and I was along with it. Longest trip is about 25mis.
  11. Seemed like it was a good crowd at DeSales tonight. Bardstown did travel well since the distance wasn’t a huge hindrance. But overall I agree with the tenor of this thread.
  12. Shoot, I've been in win-or-die mode for weeks now after that slow start. Phil Rivers barely did enough for me last night.
  13. That happened before last season. Taylor was not on the Bethlehem team that made state.
  14. JJ will be signing in a ceremony at the school Wednesday afternoon.
  15. Smoke and mirrors, that's how this is getting done.
  16. Bardstown is playing in about any big event possible to showcase him and other players. They’re in the LexCath tourney again this year and KOB.
  17. I was told no. Just offsetting unsportsmanlike penalties.
  18. Pretty cool for the NC-Bardstown area. We don't get many D-I players. Last one was Kevin Ndahiro about 5 years ago from Thomas Nelson, who went to Stetson and North Alabama. Before that it was more than 25 years ago, when NCHS' Mike Scrogham went to Morehead.
