  1. Cody was a tuition student. Travis opted to stay with friends and go to his home district school. Not so unusual or illegal. BTW, Beechwood has tuition students who come here to play in the band, play golf, baseball, be in the play, etc. There are many interests, many reasons that people choose to come here.
  2. I will say that Bellevue's D was very strong in the first half.
  3. 4th quarter 27-0 Beechwood. This may be incorrect. As I was walking to the car, I heard the announcer say the extra point was no good.
  4. We don't care about last week, or last year. What's gonna happen tonight???
  5. Hey Stangs! Keep up the hard work. It will come. There were definately flashes of brilliance. The hail mary pass had BW fans rooting for you! It was pretty! Good Luck!
  6. Hey Sparkey, are you trying to rescue your thread from the 'jackers'????? Yes, the sun actually IS shining. We've lived thru an 'empty' friday night. Home game this friday, AND it's Homecoming, so maybe we'll feel a little more 'at peace'.
  7. I'm right there with you, Spark. I'm having the same sort of withdrawal. It's weird to go to the game, and it's even stranger to be home! After having someone on that field for the past 8-9 years, I think I may need some medication! I think it will take a few weeks, and then the 'new normal' will begin to sink in!
  8. Let's just hope for a somewhat DRY field. Always seems like a slop-fest when we're on the road at Dayton. It's supposed to rain tonight and tomorrow, I think. Good Luck to both teams for a good, injury-free game!
  9. Any confirmation on time? Beechwood's announcements and schedule say 7:00. I guess better to be early than late, but if we don't have to rush.....
  10. How did the JV do yesterday?
  11. There was an article in the Community Recorder Thursday about this event. The league is giving 10 $500 scholarships to newly graduated former players. (one per team) What a wonderful gesture and honor for these boys who gave their heart and souls at a young age-and learned a thing or two along the way.
  12. In years past, I would venture to say that the Colonels pretty much DID have the best of the best. I also know that there are excellent players on other teams now, too. It could be awesome to think that the Colonels could have younger teams. Probably not in reality, though. Too labor intensive. But, oh the possibilities.....
  13. We'll miss you, Matt. Class act for many years. The girls learned alot from you. I hope you are now 'seasoned' for the teenaged years with your own daughters! You've had many 'practice' daughters! Thanks for the memories and Thanks for your time and talent! Good luck in the future. (There may still be time to reconsider!!! Please?)
  14. It really wasn't a "great" game. Too many errors from two teams that are supposed to be better than that. I did, however enjoy the tension when CCH got close and then up by one, then BW tying it, etc. I guess I can say I enjoyed it because I no longer have a dog in the fight! Nerves are different when your own is on the mound or in the field!
  15. OH! I'm SOOOO terribly sorry.
  16. Congrats to Holmes on a wonderful season.
  17. No. Not necessarily. I THINK (better than assuming, I suppose!) that football numbers would keep us in compliance. I don't think we'd have to add a boy's sport.
  18. Yes. The season is a factor in the equality in the eyes of Title IX.
  19. Simply being able to FIELD a team and play with any success are far apart. I am not slamming Bellevue and Dayton's soccer. I have no knowledge of their records. I'm just saying that simply because you can scrape up 40 kids for a JV and Varsity team doesn't mean that they will have success. And, it doesn't mean that some of those 40 kids weren't previously involved in another activity and their leaving wouldn't leave a void. It just doesn't appear that there are truely enough NON-PARTICIPATING girls in the fall to keep everything at the current level. Beechwood considers grades 7-12 as high school. 7th and 8th graders are prohibited to participate on varsity soccer and football teams. (KHSAA rules) That's about 80 girls, roughly, right there. There is just alot more to this than simply stating that "The girls want it". Way more.
  20. So Brian Romes played? I heard he was injured last night. Any other highlights?
  21. Three weeks ago today....ahhhh, it seems like forever ago already!!!!! Bits and pieces are coming back to me as I look at pictures from that day. The emotions were strong, and still are barely under the surface! Great game! Thanks LCA for putting up a fight! Thanks Tigers, for fighting back! Neither gave up. #52 has surgery on his 'worst' knee Thursday (12-27). We'll let that heal, then tackle (so to speak) the right knee again. He lived his dream and saw it to fruition. I couldn't be prouder. Thanks everyone, for the memories!!! Get in that weight room and pump it up! Next season is HERE! We'll be cheering!
  22. Careful Surf. That was just ONE of the proofs given to us yesterday. The seniors got together and came up with basic concepts, and now the designs are flowing in..... Final decision is NOT made.
  23. I was listening to the NCC game and was disappointed that the announcers couldn't pronounce the players names correctly. If you are doing a professional job, at LEAST go over the pronounciation prior to the event. Kept calling the NCC quarterback "Q's". His name is pronounced "Keys".
  24. Do you think DVD's of this game will be available like they were in '04? We don't have cable, (really!) and would like to have a copy for posterity. The last time I tried to 'tape' a game from ICN-6 at my parents, I got 2 hours of SNOW! The kids weren't available to do the techno stuff, and MY VCR (or DVD, whatever it is!) has been flashing '12' since we bought it! (Do you think it'll come in BETA?):jump:
