Time to add some more thoughts.

 

LCA, congratulations on an OUTSTANDING season and final game! You guys are all awesome, and we're proud of you.

 

You played your hearts out and were a play or two away from being state champions.

 

To the dozen or so players who were around before the Rains era: thanks for sticking it out and helping to establish a great football program; your perseverance during the difficult seasons has paid off (hey, remember when your lunatic Jr. High coaches had you playing 16 games in a season...?!)

This was the greeting I received from BeechwoodFan's husband when I stopped by the Beechwood pre-game tailgate party. :scared:

 

It was great to meet you guys (BTW, I'm from the North, and the correct grammer is "you guys", not "y'all").

 

I met Lucky Dog, Coachg, BeechwoodFan and some others (forgive my poor memory; I'm old).

 

I really enjoyed the banter (sometimes bordering on hostility) that we had in the pre-game threads, and in person you guys are great. I hope that we can meet up in future games.

The state game was one to remember ,not regret .The highest scoring CLASS A game in state history .Well played , hard hitting and a great finish .

Hey Bluto ,commenting from a post you made else where .You said something about the offense not losing much ...I agree with your QB AND THAT RB back you should do fine . Surely Gaffney will be hard ti replace though .Very solid player ,all around .Also ,# 80 with the size and aggressiveness he will be missed .Those are just a couple that stand out to me .

True, they and the other seniors will be missed. I was referring to the fact that it won't be a wholesale turnover, like we had from 2005 to 2006 (when we lost 8 senior starters at 15 positions on O and D).

 

On offense we lose linemen Duff & Hill, and receivers Gaffney and Ledford. Our entire backfield returns.

#52 has surgery on his 'worst' knee Thursday (12-27). We'll let that heal, then tackle (so to speak) the right knee again. He lived his dream and saw it to fruition. I couldn't be prouder.

I will have to say that was an awesome display of determination by a young man ,#52.He should of been gone in what week 6,maybe .To play injured is one thing but to play when you can hardly walk is another .Also to play at the level he played at .Hard to tell most times .

 

The qoute I heard from him was "I don't want to let my teammates down ".That and the ,what i call ,THE WANT TO .Congrats to him and all the seniors and best of luck in whatever you do in life .Also thanks for showing the Freshman who came up the RIGHT WAY .

Well where are all my fellow NKY people who were saying I was crazy for thinking LCA would win the game. I Know most of you all said it wouldn't even be close. Yeah I know I ended up being wrong and Beechwood did win. However as you seen I was no so crazy at all for picking LCA to win, because I mean they were just 2 yards away from winning like I said. I knew going in that LCA was a REALLY GOOD football team, and well I guess now the rest of my fellow NKY members realize that now too! I mean I wouldn't have picked LCA to win, if I didn't know that LCA was a really good team. So next time people might not want to call me crazy in a prediction, because I mean I wanted Beechwood to win, but that must show something if I thought LCA would win...Sorry I had to get all of that out now, because I been holding it in for three weeks lol. I just know I got alot of crap for saying LCA would win, or even thinking it would be close. So I just wanted to say something about it now!

You, like several of us, got a lot of crap for saying that LCA was good. In the preseason I said they were good and should be ranked higher, boy did many people disagree. And you picked them to win the championship game, again many people disagreed. I don't hear that many people disagreeing now.

One thing for sure, no one will be saying that Beechwood is going to kill LCA. Though I was never one who made that claim, I did think we would win and did not dream it would be that close.

 

That was one heck of a game. We all got our moneys worth. Both teams fought to the end and never gave up. You cant ask for anything more.
