Onceuponatime, I am a Walton-Verona fan and parent. I hope everyone on here knows that you are not speaking for the fans of WV. Hannah Dossett is a great player and a great kid. I am always amazed at how people on here attack kids and coaches behind a screen name. Be bigger than that! Talk about good things that you see at games and build people up. You might feel better about yourself.

It also depends on if he competed in a sport during both of the 8th grade years. IF i am not mistaken you have 6 years of eligibility from the time you enter 7th grade. So if he repeats 8th grade but does not play that year, he would still have 4 years of eligibility left. Then you have to determine if he/she turns 19 before Aug. 1st of his senior year, if they do then they can not play that year for age reasons.

Tyler Jones. He was a great player. I was fortunate enough to be the coach that year and he made me look real smart sometimes! Great kid too! Just got married and is now a teacher! It was honor to Coach him and see him grow up.

I have come to the conclusion that this country attempts to regulate way to much stuff. Why would anyone ever come up with a rule to stop people from cheering during a ballgame. These people that sit in corporate offices and try to come up with rules and regulations have forgot what life is all about! Life is about dealing with adversity and learning how to adjust on the fly! UGH!

Doesn't matter how old the kid is! He is in 8th grade and scored 34 points in a varsity game. How many people on this message board ever scored 34 points in any game??? Why can't we just appreciate good performances!

I want to congratulate Walton-Verona on a good season. To go from 4 wins to having 14 this year and still returning 10 of our top 12 players for next year. You showed great growth as a team and as young men and made us all proud. Congratulations to Shea Evans and Jacob Kirby for sticking it out through some tough times and having a great Senior Season. Good luck to Grant County the rest of the year.

As a dad I am so proud of my son. He has put a lot of time and effort into trying to be a good high school basketball player. As a dad and former coach I love how he cares so much more about being a good teammate and part of a winning team more than scoring a lot of points. Way to go Kyle!

As a parent of a player on Walton's team why wouldn't I root for my son and his teammates. Regardless of who they play.

Good win for the Bearcats. They are finding ways to win this year. They have 5 guys that are capable of having big nights. Each night seems to be a different one. If they could put it all together on the same night they could win a game or 2 in the postseason.

Final

I would like to chime in on this thread. First, congrats to my son and his teammates at Walton-Verona. They have came a long way in a year. Coach Brannen, Coach Sullivan and staff have done a great job this year and I think we will continue to get better. Second, congrats to Owen County. They were the best team and have the best player. Coach Duvall has his team playing well and all of his kids know their role and play it well. Third, as a former coach let me say I would take Carson on my team any day. The kid can play! He will continue to improve and play at the D-1 level. Does he need to improve his jumper, yes. Will he - YES! He is a great kid and great player. Great game and great people at this game. This is what the ALL-A and HS basketball is all about.
