  1. Go to some of these weekend tournaments. It's just stupid. No pitching rules as they rely on coaches to manage their players workload. 10 and 11 year olds throwing over 100 pitches a game or day just to win a $5 ring. Kids as young as 9 trying to throw curve balls, and just snapping the elbow trying to do so. I have very strict pitch counts with my teams that I don't sway on. I manage the workload of my catchers that also pitch. They don't follow the same pitch counts as my field players do. To me, it's just not worth risking the health of my players. I grew up with too many guys that were stud pitchers as kids, but by the time they reach high school, their arms were shot.
  2. I can see that, as I think there was a fully exposed outlet (or 2) on top.
  3. I was there back in the fall. The stands were in rough shape as the steps were deteriorating in sections. Metal plates were installed in some spots to help. I didn't pay a ton of attention, but the pressbox didn't seem too bad. Now sitting up on top of it was a little sketchy. The playing surface seemed to be in really good shape at the time.
  4. My understanding is that he's an assistant at Dixie now.
  5. Her boyfriend just transferred there for football.
  6. If they can get him for the right price, I wouldn't mind seeing them get OJ Howard. He's a former first round pick that hasn't quite put it all together. He was a guy that many thought the Bengals should've taken a few years ago. He's been overshadowed by Gronk the past 2 years. A change of scenery may do him good.
  7. Of the crews working this tournament, the worst is doing this game. I hope they’re better tonight for both teams sake
  8. I could be wrong, but when the Reds help do a field, I thought they typically put in all new fencing.
  9. We had to use it for middle school ball this year, so I found that link early in the season. lol Only thing I don't like about the app is the $1 added charge for each ticket. Otherwise, I didn't mind as I never have cash, and it was a quick and easy double click with Apply Pay to buy the tickets. I don't like when places make these mobile apps the only way to purchase tickets and enter the events. There are still many people that don't have smart phones, particularly the older generation. They have no way of getting into these events.
  10. St. Barbara in Erlanger/Independence off Turkeyfoot Road is having one from 4:30 to 8:00. This past Friday, the place was packed by 5:00. https://www.stbarbaraky.org/fish-fry
  11. At least he bet on his team to win. Lol.
  12. It's out there. Sometimes you just have to click the "Check for new events" link at the bottom.
  13. What's wrong with what I said? I'm just relaying what his mother said publicly and saying I could see other kids having the same issue when in that type of situation.
  14. Looks like Ward took a few more shots that I thought after seeing the stats. And it sounds like he checked himself out of the game mentally in the 2nd half. Seems to be an issue of his that he's trying to work through. I would imagine it would be hard for any kid that could put up 20+ every night to stand and watch and not touch the ball possession after possession for long stretches.
  15. Things weren't clicking because HC did nothing to get him open. Conner left him open time and time again Sunday night. Dixie face guarded him early causing HC to have to work to get him open, but seemed like they were just content with having him stand on the 3 point line and watch Meyer. I think he only ended up with 5 points on 2 for 2 shooting? When Wogenstahl went out for nearly all the 2nd due to fouls, it seemed like HC sat Gibson for most of that time too. That didn't seem to make sense at all either. Meyer is one heck of an offensive player. His body control when going up for a shot is unreal. And his ability to finish is one of the best I've seen.
  16. What’s the situation with Ward? Looks like he quit during the game.
  17. Ward refusing to get in the timeout huddles. Something is going on
  18. This crew is horrible. They were horrible last night and horrible again tonight.
  19. Fun game to watch. Heck of a comeback by Conner, which IMO was led by Meyer forcing things on the offensive end. HC did a good job of moving the ball and finding the open man (Ward) early to build their big lead. Then it became the Meyer show which led to Conner’s comeback. He forced way too many contested shots that Conner was able to get stops on. And yes, he did put the game away late. The kid has unbelievable talent, but when he dishes just as much as he shoots, he takes their team to another level.
  20. They didn’t go through that process with their football team as that was a done deal. I think that was about a 4 day turnaround time.
  21. You can buy at the arena for $10 via cash or credit card. Couple things: - Arena required masks going in last night as they made you take one, but after you walked up the steps, no-one cared about them any longer. - You cannot take purses in unless they are clear.
  22. If you can pull in girls from 9th region schools that don’t play high school, you would be able to compete better. Schlueter - St Henry - Ohio State Dennigan - Ryle - FSU Gerak - Dixie - UK Gerak - Dixie - Michigan State And pull one from the hallways of NDA: Unkraut - Penn State
