The Dixie Heights Red Colonels are heading into the 9th Region title game with a 22-6 record this season, and riding a 5-game win streak as they get ready to face off against the Blue Colonels of Covington Catholic, who are currently 9 games into their own win streak and are holding a region-best record of 27-4.

These two played each other back on December 3rd. It was Cov Cath's season opener, and Dixie' second game of the season. The Blue Colonels came away with a 20-point victory that go around, winning 79-59. But with over 3 months that have gone by since that game, these two teams are bound to look significantly different when they tip off tomorrow night in the 9th Region Finals.

Tipoff is at 7:00pm at BB&T Arena on the campus of Northern Kentucky University. Both schools have $8 presale tickets available in their school offices, or tickets can be purchased before the game tomorrow night.

If you can't make it to the game, tune in to either of the free audio broadcasts of the game:

Just don’t see Dixie keeping it close.

CovCath  78

Dixie  57

Will be a LOT closer than when these two met in 2018 in the Region Finals.  I think that margin was 41.

I think Dixie is defending well enough that this is really close at half, sort of close after the 3rd Q, and ultimately 8-12 at the end.

62-52.

CovCath should win fairly easily.  But it is the 9th Region, so a Dixie win would not shock me at all.

Tipoff is in a half hour. The Cincinnati Enquirer's James Weber is reporting that there's already a good sized crowd on hand.

My son & I saw the first match up on Dec 3 + CovCath a couple of other times this year.  We've also seen GRC a few times, Ballard, Woodford, PRP, N Laurel & some others.  May the best team win tonight & represent the 9th well in Lexington.  With Ashland, Male, & GRC along the way, fans are about to get their money's worth.  CovCath by 10.

FYI, I'll be listening in and providing updates as I can via my phone, so anyone who wants to pitch in with score updates and whatnot, you're more than welcome to, as always.

Of the crews working this tournament, the worst is doing this game. I hope they’re better tonight for both teams sake
