I was only there for the second quarter but from what I saw it could have been worse if Newport would have taken advantage of all the Dayton turnovers. They must have had 2 or 3 just while I was watching. I do like Dayton's quarterback. He moves pretty good and makes some plays.

It'll be no more than 5 bucks for the ticket, might not be that much. Not sure as far as concessions, but probably just your normal concession food that most people have.

CM has a very rich tradition. People Like Bo/Carl Pelini and Bob and Mike Stoops all come from there.

Good question. I'd say the parents are a big part of it but I'd imagine some of it is the student as well.

Unfortunately I think it might always be this way at our alma mater.

IMO its all up to the kids as far as the academics part. There are good teachers down there but its up the to kids to take advantage. You get out of it what you put in. If want to learn then you will. If you dont then well your not going to.

Seems like its been happening quite a bit since around 2000 or so. Some kids that come up thru the Newport system think they are too good to go school and play sports at Newport when they get to high school. Not saying this is the case with the kids recently because I dont know them personally and have no clue what their reasons for leaving are but I know this used to be the case.

Any word on who Newport is sending?

Man I remember that bucket very well. He used to always have some type of Jolly Ranchers or Life savers in there. I used to steal all kinds of goodies out of there.

I was told he suffered a Heart Attack. They said he had one before this one recently as well.

I'll probably remember Ray more for some of the things he said more than anything. He always made me laugh, I really got a kick out of being around him.
