  1. I don't get what is so hard to comprehend about the differences in Blume/Beach. You take Beach every day of the week and twice on Sunday. He's a Division 1 RB recruit and Blume, while a good high school back, will probably not see the field at an NAIA school.
  2. Class and character rests in the eyes of the beholder.
  3. The Game is: FRIDAY JUNE 16 @ 6pm IN CHATTANOOGA.
  4. No Taxation without representation! How can they tax the "people" when the the representation doesn't vote the way the people wanted them too? Sounds like a case for a modern day Boston Tea Party.
  5. I just don't see this as the "fit" S. Laurel needed. I don't see the logic in hiring a coach that went 1-9 last year and got progressively worse in each of the 3 seasons he was at Perry Central. Would they have hired a basketball coach that had gone 2-20 the previous year? I think not.
  6. Football offers from UL and UC with a potential offer from ND and there is probably someone trying to convince this young man he could be a hoop star at NKU!
  7. Maybe he's talking about 1A Lynn Camp.....Surely Lynn Camp doesn't pay more that South Laurel. :creepy:
  8. How did Avery Hibbitt of Bowling Green run? Sounds like 3A region 1 will come down to Hoptown and Tilghman.
  9. The new coach didn't exactly get started in the right direction in this category.
  10. West Ky Top 5 1 Owensboro Catholic 2 Mayfield 3 Hopkinsville 4 Bowling Green 5 Warren Central Next 5 1 Henderson 2 Christian 3 Glasgow - Has more wins and regions won than Ft Campbell! 4 Ft Campbell 5 Trigg
  11. Ft Campbell isn't in the top 10 in wins and hasn't even won a regional championship but you have them ahead of Warren Central that is 7th in wins with 46 and won 2 regional championships the past 5 years? I don't think many are giving Warren Central the respect they deserve.
  12. This simply is not the case as I understand. The adminstration is only considering coaches with specific teaching certification where they have openings. So they are not choosing the best coaching candidate. Would they operate in this fashion if it were the head basketball coaching position? I think not.
  13. If going 1-9 like he did last year at PCC hasn't humbled him, i'm not sure there is any hope of humility. He never had a winning season at PCC. Chapels first season the Commodores returned a D1 QB in Holland and roughly 18 other starters that had gone 7-4 in 2002. They finished 2003 with a 5-6 record and followed that up with a 4-7 record in 2004 and the 1-9 record in 2005.
  14. I wouldn't consider that a "huge" upset unless you're a "common" fan. Hopkinsville would beat Trigg by 3+TD's any time they play. There is a huge difference in top 2A and top 3a football, especially in west Ky.
  15. Tiger, Has a little bitterness developed between Trigg and Hopkinsville or is it just time for the Tigers to move onto something besides the Integra Bowl?
  16. I kinda doubt there will be a UK and a WKU signee starting on the Tigers OL. They will be good, but not as talented as they were in '05.
  17. My top 5 over the past 20 years in West KY would probably be as follows: 1 Mark Higgs 2 Artose Pinner 3 Damon Hood 4 Joe Casey 5 Al Baker Honorable Mention: Drew Hall Damon Carter
  18. Wow. Pretty big comparison. I've seen Taylor a couple of times, but i'm not sure i'd put him in the company of Casey. He is good, but i'm not sure he is anywhere near as athletic and fast as Casey. Goodluck to him and hope he gets qualified.
  19. I am not dogging Ashland, i'm just trying to give a statistical alternative view to Ashland being competitive in the playoffs as woody stated. Based on the past 5 years, I don't think they have been. I had no faith in Lex Cath prior to this year because their track record was similar to that of Ashland. Afterall, prior to 2005 the Knights had never won a regional championship, much less a state championship. They had several very good teams too. Can you really argue that Stick?
  20. Competitive playoff wise? Ashland has won 7 playoff games the past 5 years. Of those 7 wins, only 2 have come against teams with a winning record (8-4 Rockcastle in '04 and 6-5 Clay Co. in '05) The Tomcats have dominated Cawood and Perry Central though.....accounting for 4 of their 7 playoff victories the past 5 years. I do not consider that "competitive playoff wise". It is ahead of Johnson Central however.
  21. When was the last time Johnson Central won a playoff game? Johnson Central has done nothing to gain anyone's respect and for that matter Ashland isn't far ahead of them.
  22. I have friends coaching in Georgia/Mississippi/Alabama and I asked them about problems with private schools winning championships, the perception of recruiting, and about public schools. They all said it was very rare that private schools win football championships (or any championships). They said private schools were basically places for those kids to go play that couldn't cut it at public schools athletically and simply wanted to play. I think what they were getting at is what Guru was saying.....if you invest in something (facilities, coaching, support, etc.) you usually reap what you sew. I tend to agree with that, although I believe some public schools in regards to football, are so far behind they'd never catch up.
  23. Warren Central. 2 State 4a runner up finishes in 89 and 90 to Trinity. Been to the state 4A semi finals 2 of the past 3 years and had some very good years over the past 25 years. Not to mention they can boast 1990 Mr. Football Damon Hood.
