Who will be the best this coming season, not last season.

The most obvious nominee is: (drum roll please, ......................)

Anderson - St Xavier - What hasn't been said about this kid? He is a phenom who will be the focus of every defense that X faces in 2006.

A more rural nominee should be Howard from Leslie County. This kid runs hard, is quick, low to the ground, hard to bring down, and just a hardnosed player. If the holes in the O line are filled, he should have a phenomenal year.

I agree with the names mentioned. Shane Isreal should have a big year for Lex Cath as well. I'm pretty sure Hibbit is back for Bowling Green. I'd put Isreal in the top 5 and Hibbit in the top 10. Gross and Anderson are top 5 IMO too.

Gross?

Isreal is very impressive. Will Lex Cath go to more of a run oriented offense?

From NKY I'd say Scotty Gray (Ryle), and Kramer (HHS) will have big seasons up here.

The Best RB in NKY and one of the top in the state is going to be Farris from Boone !:ylsuper: Second would be Molony from Dixie . Third Buckley from CCH . Then Grey and Kramer ! It's going to be avery good year on the ground for NKY !!!:ylsuper:

One of the better young RB's will be North Bullitt's Dalton Cissell. He rushed for 1,046 yds as a freshman last year avg. 7 yds per carry with 12 TD's. Will get the majority of the carries this year after sharing with 2 senior RB's last season. Placed 4th in the 175 lb class at State Powerlifting meet last month.

I hate putting too much pressure or expectation on a sophomore who has yet to play in a varsity game, but besides Victor Anderson, I really think that the Tigers of St. X. will have a second running back, Deuce Finch, who also will qualify as one of the best next season. Coach Glaser's backfield this fall should resemble the great combo that Belfry had in their 2004 title run. Hopefully, there will be enough carries for both of these super-talented young men. For a coach who loves the ground game, it's a great problem to have. :ylsuper:

I wonder how Glaser will handle the egos this year? I just can't see Anderson blocking for anyone. And we all know Deuce is an unreal talent. What a problem to have.

Kasey Clark of Russell.

I'm sure that each area of the state has some names that should be thrown into the discussion, but after the AA Championship game last year, I don't see how anyone could question Clark's inclusion in the top three or four names to be bandied about.

In all honesty, his biggest drawback is the fact that he plays for a coach that has too much class to "run up the score" on weaker opponents, and this translates directly into a very limited number of carries for Clark.

I hope that the people that post on this thread will take the time to check the linescores this season, and notice just how few touches Clark will get - due strictly to the fact that his team will be blowing teams out and McGlone won't embarrass anyone.

This season will be a repeat for Clark - amazing TD totals, extremely high Yards/Carry, and an artificially low number of touches. If he played for a coach that were a jerk, or if he played at a school like Male, St. X, or Trinity (where he would be needed for entire games), this kid would be off the charts.
