Best RB in the state for 2006

Featured Replies

I wouldn't be so quick to exclude Vicars. He will have something to say atleast in the NKY area.

Vicar's is good , but Farris I think is a better back ! He's a load to stop , good speed and if you load the line up. He'll throw a 40 yard pass on ya ! Believe me, I wish he wasn't in 4A and Vicar's would be the top back in NKY !:thumb:

Means Bobby O was avg. about 150 more yards than the rest of his compeitors per game!

When Bobby stepped onto the field with Leslie he learned how good he was. 68 yards or somthing.

Emanuel Taylor 6'1 212 Lbs RB Hopkinsville High School

2006 Stats: Over 1,600 yards rushing, 330 yards receiving, averaged 10.6 yards a carry, 98 yard kickoff return for TD. First year playing organize football. 4.58 forty, cleans 250lbs, good vision and runs with speed and power.

Taylor is the best Hopkinsville RB since Artose Pinner and the best in western Kentucky.

Oklahoma, Nevada, Arkansas, Louisville, Memphis, Tennessee, and many more.

Better than Hibbitt?

Look for the guy who has the physical tools and can keep his head in the game... and can show class with either a W or an L. There you will find your man Grasshopper.

Hibbit is a really good back with good vision and balance. Does a great job of bouncing plays outside and lowers his shoulders at the point of contact and gets thoses extra yards. He very quick and is hard to get a handle on. Taylor runs hard and fast. He is what some call a one cut back but has made several good moves down the field. Taylor does run at times a little to high but remember this was his first year of playing football. What Taylor does best is hit the hole hard every time he touches the ball. I believe what seperates Taylor from Hibbit and company is his size ( 212LB and gaining) along with his speed. Last week in a track event he ran the 100m in 11.4 secs. This year taylor will be more in the passing game. The coaching staff say that he has the best hands on the team but they threw some much at him they had to keep it simple. What is really exciting is how good he looked at DE during spring ball. Teams better has two on him because he is coming hard and fast at the QB. If Taylor can qualify he will be able to pick any school he wants. I believe Taylor is the best true running back in the state and is on a even playing field with Joey Casey.

Wow. Pretty big comparison. I've seen Taylor a couple of times, but i'm not sure i'd put him in the company of Casey. He is good, but i'm not sure he is anywhere near as athletic and fast as Casey. Goodluck to him and hope he gets qualified.

I guess only time will tell. Casey was great and will go down as one of the best backs in WKY history. Joey Casey had better agility then Taylor not sure he was much faster then Taylor. ET runs a true upper 4.5 forty. Size wise Casey was bigger but I think Taylor is more of a pyhsical runner.

Yea, it might be a stretch comparing the two Casey was known threw out the nation as one of the best back in the South. Not much is known about Taylor. But I tell you, it is sure fun watching him run. Chick who are your top five RB's in WKY history the last 20 years or so?

Tigertalker top 5 backs:

1) Mark Higgs

2) Al Baker

3) Artose Pinner

4) Joe Hood

5) Joey Casey

Others: Sonny Collins was the best ever but I never saw him play, & Derrick Thomas of PT was unreal.

My top 5 over the past 20 years in West KY would probably be as follows:

1 Mark Higgs

2 Artose Pinner

3 Damon Hood

4 Joe Casey

5 Al Baker

Honorable Mention:

Drew Hall

Damon Carter

The Best RB in NKY and one of the top in the state is going to be Farris from Boone !:ylsuper: Second would be Molony from Dixie . Third Buckley from CCH . Then Grey and Kramer ! It's going to be avery good year on the ground for NKY !!!:ylsuper:

What aobut Bishop from S.K.?

I think Bishop is going to go for 1,500 this season, he's a load.

I'm kinda expecting the same thing. I like his running style and the Oline did pretty well for him last season too. SK just needs more team speed and they'll do pretty well.
