South Laurel Coach Steps down
They did a good job, but geez, there was no place to go except up in both programs when they took over.

School Letter - 'R'
Rockcastle has no state titles. Russell does. That is the deciding factor.

Would you rate Justin Burke to be in the top best QB's in KY?
I was referring to Brian. Jeff Brohm would fall into a similar category as Justin Burke. Slightly behind Tim Couch, Chris Redmon, and Brian Brohm.

Would you rate Justin Burke to be in the top best QB's in KY?
No doubt he is one of the best. He probably would come after Couch, Redman, and Brohm though.

Top 5 in 3A
There is a small school by the name of Boyle Co. that will probably have a say in the outcome of the west. Paducah Tilghman will also be formidable. I'm not ready to mail it in for the Purples just yet.

Highlands vs. Bowling Green
No way is Tilghman ahead of Hoptown in '06.

Top 5 in 3A
Tiger, why in most of your posts do you talk "down" about the previous staff? Listening to you, Craig Clayton and staff had a program with no discipline, no work ethic, threw nothing but screen passes, and played poorly on defense. Clayton's record of 17 or so years at Hoptown speaks for itself. Dixie Jones has been the coach at Hoptown for less than a year. The test of time will be the judge of his tenure, not the "self proclaimed experts" as you like to call them in the community or even yourself. You had a very good post about the Tigers going until you once again decided to thow in degrading comments about the previous staff.

Signed a scholarship or to walk-on?

Why is basketball different?
That is kinda like comparing scores. Lex Cath beat Highlands who beat Cov Cath. The St X contingent will tell you Highlands was horrible and it was a flip of the coin as to who was better between BG and Lex Cath. The best 2 teams in 3A played in the championship game. Lex Cath was the better team, but an ugly turnover filled game by BG made the score worse.

Why is basketball different?
Give theguru a break. He is biased towards northern Ky and carries the pro-private school flag regularly. I still contend that the public/private debate has very little to do with football with the exception of the Louisville 4A schools. It has more to do with girls sports and other minor sports. Of course privates winning 3 of 4 football state titles certainly added fuel to the fire this year.

School Letter - 'O'
Anyone that voted for Owensboro Catholic over Owensboro has no knowledge of the history of Owensboro High School.

2006 KY Allstar Roster
I'll give you those undersized players that have the motor of a Ferrari and the heart of a lion and beat you every time. If D1 players don't have the motor of a ferrari then they aren't D1 players.

2006 KY Allstar Roster
Gumm apparently had NO offers from even the 1AA schools in state. Hard to make the team when there are 2-3 guys at his position that signed division 1 scholarships.

Best first week games for 06 season? Maybe Lexcath VS St. X?
Anybody can call plays. You don't just replace D1 quarterbacks and Neff/Doss weren't close to being in the same league as Justin Burke. The best playmaker returning for Lex Cath is Wes Caldwell, but he is a WR.

2006 KY Allstar Roster
Where did Sauerbeck, Blume, and Senn sign?
-
2006 KY Allstar Roster
Common sense? I'm sure the entire All-Star coaching staff and selection committee watched film and evalutated each potential all-star player. I'd be willing to bet in all 3 cases there were players at their position with more SPEED. The combination of size and speed is what wins all-star games (well, any game for that matter) and while Sauerbeck, Blume, and Senn are good players, there were apparently others that were more impressive on film to the coaching staff and selection committee. The objective is to win, which is something the all-star team has done a lot of the past 5 years against Tennesse with the present selection process.

KY All-Stars Coach?
Anyone know who the assistants are going to be for Perry Thomas?

KY All-Stars Coach?
The team has been selected. Look at post 27 in this thread.

Your Top 5 by Class now that the season is over?
Rockcastle also got drubbed 34-0 by a class A Danville team that didn't even win its region and was hammered by Boyle County. One could go on for days making comparisons for and against any team.

KY All-Stars Coach?
Fidler, Burke, and Chris Cessna were elected to the team but have chosen not to play. The 2 QB's are Anderson from Male and KJ Black from Fern Creek. Olinger is on the team as a DB.

What's going on at West Jessamine?
This is starting to sound like a shakey hire by the West Jessamine administration.

Hopkinsville & bowl games at the Stadium of Champions
That is OVER scheduling at its best. The Tigers could be looking at an 0-5 start when you consider how inexperienced they will be. Its nice to talk about tough schedules, but that could do more harm than good.

Who is gonna be the best in 3A next year?
How big are these two guys? I saw them play twice last year and neither one of them looked small to me.
