Of the choices above, pick which school that has the best overall football program. That includes all the following:

* All level of play - 9th 10th 11th 12th

* Fan Support

* Coaches

* Wins

* Titles

* Facilities

* Etc.

I mean include everything in your result, not just this years success or failure but all time. Which school is the best in football overall.

I will try and do each letter after about a week of posting.

Past choices have been --

Ashland (82%)

Boyle County (33%) -- edged Beechwood (28%)

Covington Catholic (44%) -- Corbin had 36%

Danville (79%)

Elizabethtown (56%)

Franklin-Simpson (28%) -- Fort Knox was second with 22%

Glasgow (39.4%) -- George Rogers Clark was a close second with 36.8%

Highlands (76.5%)

Iroquois (100%) -- in a squeaker

Johnson Central (40.8%)

Knox Central (38.9%) -- edging Knott Central (37.2%) by a vote

Lexington Catholic (50%) -- Lloyd Memorial had 14%

Male (53%) -- Mayfield was second with 21%

Newport Central Catholic (79.6%)

So of the choices, which includes all the football playing schools in Kentucky that begin with the letter 'O', which one is best?

I chose Owensboro based on what they have done throughout history and not just the last five years. They also have their own field.

It appears that a lot of the voters have very short memories. Owensboro Catholic has not had much of a football program until very recently.

My numbers might not be quite right but I belive that the Owensboro Red Devils have won 3 state championships, as well as have had 9 undefeated seasons, second only to Highlands. As a school they have also recorded the 6th most wins of any school in the Commomwealth all time. Not to mention that they have had multiple players to go on to careers in the NFL.

I agree strike. When you look at the overall, there isn't much of a comparison as WKy said in an earlier post.

Anyone that voted for Owensboro Catholic over Owensboro has no knowledge of the history of Owensboro High School.

Very true and saying that is in no way taking anything away from Owensboro Catholic.

Owensboro High School is one of the kingpins of KY high school football.

Wow, if there were ever a poll that shows how little football history many members have, this is it.

Owensboro over everyone else....easily and without question.

Yes, I would pick Owensboro over Catholic. Catholic has had a successful run over the last few years... but Owensboro Senior just has too much history.

Owensboro without a doubt! :thumb:

That sums it up very well. This is a no brainer.

Maybe OCath is receiving a few votes from T and X fans. The parochial schools are pretty tight about their football...

:sssh: :lol:

Good idea Scibe, but I'm afraid that this poll is simply a popularity contest. If anyone is objectively looking at the criteria for voting than there is no way that these results would hold up.
