Yes, that seems to be the norm for Beatty. The regular season is just scrimmages that are preparation for the "real" season, which is the playoffs. I am hoping for a better showing over on Preston Hwy.

I was not trying to rub anything in the X fan's faces. I just remember how many people (non X people at that) who were making such a big deal about the number of kids (or lack of) who came out for Trinity's frosh team at the beginning of the season. Honestly, my post was not directed at the X faithful at all. In all seriousness I thought it would be closer after I saw X only lost to Moeller by a few.

So Trinity's measly 50 players beat X's 120 by 3 scores? That does not make sense. Goes against the numbers argument (excuse) I read about so much on here. Guess the wrong frosh kids at X went out for football. :confused: GO ROCKS !!!!!!

I saw most of the 3rd and 4th quarters. From what i had read about the Trinity team on here I was not impressed. Mistakes, sloppy play etc. Male has some good players. Hats off to them.

Yes, 2011 Rocks 56 Elder 7. I went to that game. Elder fans were in shock. That was a special team. This year's squad should be really good, but not that good. i think BA will give us all we can handle after watching some highlights from the Olive Branch game. Where does OB stack up in the TN pecking order Baylorbigdog?

Toughest game is awhile? I think you have it backwards. The Rocks played a brutal schedule with injuries through the whole season, until the playoffs. 2 overtime games with Male. Trinity has been to war this season. Dixie has not. Being hungry does not win titles.

I will take Male running the ball over Male throwing the ball. Defense wins games and our run defense is better than our pass defense.

I myself have been wondering why many on this thread think the Rocks are some huge underdog. Trinity may very well lose. However, I was at the game last year and we were a dropped pass from winning the game. Bonnafon was out of the game at the end and not 1 senior on defense. Should be a good game.

I think you misunderstood what I said above. Last year we had a very young team that played a very tough schedule. So this year we have MANY players who saw significant playing time returning plus a lot of talented young players. I think some losses last year will be avenged. I would bet Beatty is really looking forward to this season

WDRB had a report on Trintity a few weeks back. I wasn't watching that closely, but I think they said 18 or 19. Don't know if they meant starters or players that saw time on the field. Last year we basically fielded a JV team ( except for a few like Bonnafon) that played a varsity schedule. Hoping for some big improvement this year.

I think I was at the game you mention. Rocks won on a last second field goal. If memory serves me correct, the yardage of the field goal matched the jersey number of a Trinity player who passed away either that year or the year before. I think it was 1983?????
