  1. That's a great question, well done VOR. :thumb:
  2. A couple articles about the incident that provide additional details, including a video: Fight at Indianapolis Sports Park shows intensity of youth baseball Ohio Man Travel Baseball Coach Goes After Parent With Aluminum Bat At Indianapolis Tournament
  3. Were they actually serving alcohol at the baseball facility?
  4. Have heard some comparisons to Andrew Miller 2.0...
  5. I didn't watch the game but it certainly didn't look like 9,500 -- or anywhere close to 9,500 -- from the highlights.
  6. Brandon McCarthy v. Tyler Mahle tomorrow. McCarthy partially dislocated his non-pitching shoulder on April 11th. 2-0 with 2.76 ERA & 13 K's in his last 3 starts. Mahle has a 3-start losing streak but was decent last outing (5 IP, 2 runs vs. Brewers). He's 0-3 with a 7.20 ERA in his last 3 starts.
  7. Tickets are cheap but @MJAlltheWay24's beer is still expensive.
  8. You realize that Didi Gregorious was traded with Drew Stubbs to acquire Shin-Shoo Choo, right? Choo had an incredible stint with the Reds in 2013 for a team that had a real chance to make some noise in the postseason.
  9. Hoopty, you are correct. There is absolutely nothing about this tragedy to suggest any foul play. Just a gut-wrenching, awful story.
  10. I was wondering how many times St. Henry has beaten CCH over the past several years, so I did some research through the KHSAA scoreboard dating back to 2009. It looks like this was the 4th win for SHDHS over the Colonels since 2009 and their 1st win since May 4, 2015. CCH is 10-3 since 2009 and it appears there is 1 game missing in the 2009 season (May 8, 2009 no score was reported). Congrats to the Cru on the comeback victory last week! Sounds like a great comeback!
  11. Exactly. I can understand the debate over whether recreational marijuana should be legalized. I think it should be legal, but I can at least understand that some people feel it shouldn't be. I have no clue how anyone can argue against the legalization of medicinal marijuana and its benefits.
  12. I'm guessing that you're referring to the fact that cigarettes have filters and most homemade marijuana cigarettes do not. The difference is that the average cigarette smoker may smoke 10+ cigarettes a day, while the average pot smoker inhales far less frequently. As @theguru alluded, if marijuana were legalized you would see a significant increase in the number of alternatives to smoking marijuana. Edibles (i.e. marijuana infused cookies, breath mints, etc.), vapors, oils, creams and other ways to consume marijuana would become much more prevalent in lieu of lighting one up & inhaling smoke.
  13. If we are going to have a legitimate conversation about the legalization of marijuana then we must discuss the political implications, as well as the political reasons why it's not legal (i.e. Pharmaceutical companies).
  14. That's awesome, TB&J. I think far too many that oppose the legalization of marijuana know very little about it, except the two most common stereotypes: gateway drug & burnout losers eating bags of Doritos in mom & dad's basement.
  15. Nothing good in legalizing it except revenue? How about the medicinal benefits for terminally ill patients? How about the medicinal benefit for those who suffer from Parkinsons, epilepsy or seizures? How about reducing the stress on the overcrowded prisons? How about the government overseeing the production & distribution of marijuana so the consumer knows exactly what they're getting instead of relying on the black market? How about eliminating the black market entirely, thereby reducing one's exposure to other illicit drugs?
  16. That is such flawed logic. Sure, most heroin addicts have tried marijuana prior to heroin, but in most instances they've also relied heavily on nicotine and/or alcohol. There is nothing in particular about marijuana that promotes the use of other drugs. The reality is that the majority of marijuana users do NOT go on to more hardcore drugs.
  17. Huge RBI single by Luis Castillo, Reds lead 5-0 in top 6th.
  18. It bothers me that Price used Winker last night to pinch run -- Winker can't swing a bat, he needs to go to the DL.
  19. I really like Castillo. He is still a bit raw, but I think he could develop into a frontline starter.
