  1. I don't know that this thread will prove useful, but figured I'd provide you with the link anyway. http://bluegrasspreps.com/bgp-break-room/anyone-with-a-338013.html
  2. Interesting comparison. The Reds don't have a front line starter as good as Ervin Santana, but outside of Santana (and maybe Berrios) the Twins' rotation is very mediocre. The Twins are 3 games over .500 (I think) but basically out of playoff contention. I'd take that next year from the 2018 Reds.
  3. I'm with you. Bailey has had a few brights spots but has mostly struggled this year. I wish Desclafani were healthy, but at this point he cannot be relied on to pitch effectively in 2018 either. Garrett showed some promise early in the season on the ML level. The four (4) you mentioned above have had some major league success, too. They're not going to be a WS contender but I'm actually encouraged going into 2018 that they can take a step forward.
  4. Tough to question Cal at this point but this one throws me off a bit. How is it even possible that he's never started a frosh, JV or varsity game?
  5. Duvall's 2016 & 2017 numbers are remarkably similar: 2016: 150 games, .241 avg, .297 OBP, 33 HR, 103 RBI, 41 BB & 164 K 2017: 147 games, .246 avg, .291 OBP, 31 HR, 97 RBI, 34 BB & 162 K
  6. 3 months ago people would've said you're crazy for predicting Jesse Winker to hit 15 HR's...
  7. 1st half (84 games): .254 AVG, .327 OBP, 22 HR, 44 RBI 2nd half (47 games): .193 AVG, .286 OBP, 5 HR, 17 RBI & 2 triples He hit 8 HR's in April/March (23 games) and May (27 games) with roughly .250 average & .319 OBP. In June (25 games), he hit .282 with .380 OBP, 4 HR & 10 RBI. I'd take that. In July (26 games) he hit .136 with .200 OBP, 3 HR & 5 RBI. That's awful. He bounced back in August (12 games) with .351 average, .432 OBP, 3 HR & 11 RBI. He has struggled thus far in September (18 games) batting .196 with .288 OBP & only 1 HR.
  8. Not sure if this was directed at me or not? I'm hardly fascinated by either Duvall or Schebler, but somebody has to play the outfield. If the Reds move Hamilton down the lineup, I'd be fine with it, but he can't continue to lead off.
  9. Billy Hamilton is not in my everyday starting lineup, either. I'd be willing to give Peraza or Schebler a start at earning the job. Hamilton probably sticks around, but in a utility role & defensive replacement. I'd have Winker & Duvall at the corner outfield spots. Scooter is arbitration eligible & can expect a decent raise. He isn't a free agent until 2020. If I'm the Reds, I see what type of trade market exists for Scooter. He had a career year and those numbers are extremely impressive given the modest $2.5 million he made this season. I suspect his production in Cincinnati far outweighs his trade value (much like Cozart), so I'd imagine he'll be the starting 2nd baseman in 2018. Suarez is also arbitration eligible and will be in line for a big raise. He made about $575,000 this season. No idea what he'll earn in arbitration. Reds may consider dealing him (Jean Segura brought back Taijuan Walker in exchange) or negotiating a long-term deal (probably 4-5 year deal at roughly $10-$12M per year average).
  10. I'd extend the qualifying offer of $18 million. If he accepts it, then you have your shortstop for 2018. This would allow Senzel another half season to develop in the minors (and perhaps more importantly, it delays starting his MLB service time). If he rejects the offer because he's looking for a big-time, multi-year deal, then the Reds get a compensation pick. If the Reds think Senzel is ready to begin 2018 in the big leagues and Suarez (or Peraza) is capable of playing SS on a daily basis, then I'd be okay letting Cozart walk with nothing in exchange. But, as I mentioned above, I personally doubt whether Suarez or Peraza can handle shortstop defensively.
  11. He is super athletic but didn't get much PT for Moeller last year. You can see the potential & raw athleticism when you watch him warm up, though.
  12. I recommend you see an orthopaedic specialist/surgeon first. Once the ortho reviews the diagnostic testing (and perhaps orders additional imaging), you can ask the ortho what he/she recommends. It's possible they'll recommend physical therapy or chiropractic treatment. Chiropractic treatment can be very beneficial, but typically it only offers short-term relief if you have a significant issue. It may help on a day to day basis, but it won't "fix" the problem like physical therapy (or surgery) can.
  13. I wouldn't be upset if the Reds extended a qualifying offer to Cozart for $18 million. That's overpaying him, but I'd rather pay him $18 million for 1 season than $40+ million for 3. If the Reds are out of it in July 2018, deal Cozart and promote Senzel. Only problem is I'm not sure if Suarez or Peraza moves to SS.
  14. Class? I'm assuming you didn't see the interview, did you? I'd be more upset if AJ remained silent after the start to this season.
  15. Nope, and he's probably not an upgrade over AJ Mccarron at this point, either.
  16. 3-0 with Florida coming to Lexington. I'll take it.
  17. He definitely needs to play everyday for the remainder of the season and I think he's the leading candidate for 2018.
  18. Dalton has struggled but I'm not worried about him as much as I am the Oline. Mccarron is not the answer.
  19. Reds are 9-6 versus STL this season after their win tonight
  20. Votto: .462, 13 runs, 16 RBI in 15 games versus STL this year -- he has reached base in all 15 games.
