Not to take anything from W.C., my old buddy Kevin Brown had his boys ready to play! I just think you had to expect a bit of a letdown after Belfry beat Johnson Central last week.

I like Allen Central 28-6.

I expect this to be a tough match-up. Valley had Prestonsburg down in the 4th Quarter before losing 13-12. I am going to take Valley in the upset special 20-14.

Make no mistake about it, Central has the talent to WIN this game. I just wonder which team will show up to play. Central has been hot and cold all year, that speed is unreal! Do not underestimate them Birds, or else it might be you flying for cover!

I think Belfry has just a little bit more speed, I think it gives them a slight edge.

Who wins this big time game? I say Belfry stays unbeaten 21-20 in a hard fought game.

Lawrence County is a perfect example of what happens to a program when you have a change in administration and they are not football minded. You can bring in whoever to coach and it won't change much until the change happens at the top.

Pikeville is not an upper tier class A team this year.

I hear what you are saying, and I don't disagree with you. I am just saying that if the Principal didn't fire a coach, he or she would still keep thier job. Things are much different now in education than in years past. As I posted above, a principal must do something very wrong to get fired. A Superintendent doesn't have the power to just fire people who don't go along. I have seen Principals go against the will of the Board and the Superintendent. Usually they won't though.

MUCH closer than expected! I can't figure that Central bunch out. Still a very dangerous team though.

Does L.C. have injured players? I'm not trying to throw off on Rowan Co., but how do you go from playing the tail off of Belfry and P-burg and get beat this badly by them?

Let me explain the process to everyone. By law, the Superintendent is the only person in the district that hires and or fires. However, the building principal, after consultation with the SBDM council makes a recommendation to the Superintendent. By law, the Superintendent MUST ACCEPT the recommendation of the principal. On paper the Superintendent hires, but in reality the building principal makes the decisions in his or her building. As far as coaches go, that decision is based completely by the building principal as its an extra duty position and its on a year to year basis. One gentleman posted that the SBDM council decides that and the firing of the principal. LOL Well, I'm glad the SBDM council doesn't have that kind of power, otherwise you would have total turmoil within a school. Principals have to do something very wrong to get fired.

How does Pikeville go from almost beating Corbin and playing right with Lexington Catholic to almost, and to be honest, should have lost to Allen Central? Has A.C. improved that much? Is Pikeville banged up that bad? I know upsets happen from time to time, but this is very odd. Can someone give us some insight into this one?

That statement really suprises me! Mayfield kids have always taken a lot of pride and played really hard in the past. Why do you think its taken that kind of turn?
