How big of an upset is this? Good win for the Cards.

I dont think it would be considered a upset. Taylor has a very good team.

Not so much an upset, but a huge win for Taylor, which is now solidly the team to beat in its district. This is a program that is only a few years removed from being on the wrong end of running-clock games.

Great win for coach Turpin and his kids.

I know Turpin has a connection to Lincoln but don't know what it is. Is he a native?

Yes Turp is a LC graduate.

#41 RB for Taylor County was a load, he just kept getting better and better as the game went on. Macon ran the ball well also and caught 4-5 passes. TC was up 18-7 at the half after scoring on the first play of the game. 2nd half was an old fashioned shootout. SHS had some success running the ball with Jackson and Coleman doing most of the damage. Somerset passing game really came out in the second half with Nelson, Henderlight and Wilson all catching balls for very big plays. In the end the game came down to a 4th down spot of the ball. SHS was attempting a field goal down 3 with under 2 minutes to go. TC blocked the kick but Hunter Nelson picked it up and advanced it to first down marker. The ball was spotted then re-spotted at least two times with the final spot being 2 inches short of giving SHS 1st and 10 at the 15 trailing by 3. Somerset players and coaches will admit that this wasn't the best that they could play, but they did show a lot of heart late in the game. I hope these young Jumpers use this game to grow, mature and drive them to get better. It seemed as if they may have started to come together a little tonight.

Congrats to Taylor County, great game. You guys played your butts off.

Chris Thomas is #41 and your right he is a load. IMO he is a very underrated back, last year he shredded our defense all night. We were fortunate to contain him this year…

Taylor may have a good team, but I consider this to be somewhat of an upset.

Taylor pulled of what was considerd an upset. Idk if Taylor is the team to beat however. Garrard beat Jackson 67-16 and has played very well the past two weeks. I bet coach Cobb will have Somerset ready for the playoffs.
