Someone said in 2011 they were a championship caliber team, who was the coach then? Where is he now? I am unfamiliar with the Garrard Co history.

Blair would be the obvious choice there if he doesn’t go back to Southern I think.

Transfer rules are enforced....depends a lot on who is transferring and where they are going from what I’ve seen.

I’m sure Crutchfield will be offered, but he seems to have a good thing going where he is. I know he is a hometown boy, but starting over isn’t always the easiest thing to do.

I’m going with Madison Central here. Last meeting was a tight playoff game. Central returns basically everyone from last year, and if I remember they took a very physical approach in that game to move the ball. They have lined up and played physical all year, not sure how BS will respond to that.

Based on being number 8 in 6A. I don’t disagree that this team is vastly improved. A lot of kids returning this year that were very young last year and played a lot. Pikeville is different than most 1A schools, but still 1A. How many kids dress has nothing to do with anything. Reread what I said, I gave LCA and Pikeville credit for being good teams. I was talking about the rest of the schedule for Madison Central. Pikeville has the size and numbers, but I would disagree that they have the athletes that most 6A teams. Oldham Co, Bryan Station and Southwestern will show for sure where the Indians stand. Wish them nothing but the best of luck...just a good ole boys opinion. Keep it real yo!

There are rules in place...but it all comes down to KHSAA rulings. A lot of behind the scenes things that go into those decisions....??

In the long run it is a good game for both teams. We can’t forget it was 6A vs 1A. Could be wrong but I think Central is over rated. Before this game the teams they beat this year had a total of 3 wins. The schedule has been very weak besides the 1A and 2A teams they have played.

How do the Braves look to fair against this schedule? The district is crazy tough!

5-5 if they have a good year. The small schools are scheduled to hopefully get wins against “big name” teams they are much bigger than. Looking for wins this year, not worried about RPI. Administration and coach trying to get him to 300. Had a rough couple years with talent down, and a questionable firing of the previous coach, so they are looking for good PR. Just an opinion....

Anything on a official announcement? If not when is it expected?

Has anyone heard anything on this? Still wondering what the circumstances were with him not coming back. I know it was an 0-6 season, but is there more to it than just that? Any word on the direction the administration is wanting to go with a hire?

The people in charge are going to have to give whoever they hire time. They have to understand where the program is and that it is going to take time to get the program going in the right direction. They can't expect wins and losses to get better right away. It will take time to get the right staff in, to get players and parents to buy in, and then to begin getting results on the field. If they think they are going to get a quick fix, then they will be hiring a new coach again in a couple years I am afraid. Hardwork and patience are going to be very important in this process.

Administration on a power trip can ruin many good jobs and places to work. Personal agenda seem to be the most important thing to some in administration. In a job where it is suppose to be about the kids, these people seem to forget that sometimes. Its never good for a coach if this is the issue and they aren't on the inside with the administration and there agenda.

Don't disagree with that, but if that is the case just wonder why they haven't made the hire yet.

GRC has one, and I have heard that Somerset was doing the same as you stated already. The thinking behind this I would believe is that you never know what the weather will be like during the spring in Kentucky. Should help get games in, a lot less work to do on fields for practices and games. Previously saw Holmes campus for the first time, the fields and campus were amazing!

Tryouts are getting close aren't they? What are teams allowed to do before they have tryouts?

Any word on this? Haven't heard anything in a while. Several jobs have opened and been filled since this became available.......

Be interesting to hear the reasons for moving on. Is the school dedicated to rebuilding this program? Are they going to give the support, money and have the patience needed?
