Indians' war chant welcomes Defenders to Richmond

Records: Bryan Station (7-1), Madison Central (7-1)

BGP Ranking: Bryan Station (#6 in 6A), Madison Central (#9 in 6A)

Series History: Station leads 12-10 all-time

Table Setter: Station and Madison Central have both taken care of business in the district to set up this tussle for the one seed and home field for at least the first two rounds of the playoffs. Last Friday, the Defenders put down 10th ranked Oldham County by three scores, while the Indians rolled over GRC 43-7. This was the same GRC squad that Station grinded out a 9-7 decision against a week earlier, which is sure to play a factor in the perception of this week's game.

Station has playmakers everywhere, with dual threat quarterback Trenton Cutwright and the 1-2 punch of Joey Bond and Jeremiah Mundy-Lloyd making for a formidable backfield. Cutwright has JMarious Lindsay and Damin Green as his top targets, with Green doubling as an opportunistic defender with a pick-six and scoop and score on his resumé. Linebacker Jason Hocker and defensive back JT Haskins Jr. (5 interceptions) lead the defense.

Madison Central continues its roll as one of 6A's most buzzworthy teams behind a ground game in tip top shape, averaging 375 yards per game the last two weeks. During that time, Brady Hensley has accounted for nearly 200 a game, himself. The passing game has mostly been shelved recently, but when the Indians do go to the air, it's often a chunk play to Jayden West, who's one of the top yards per catch guys in 6A.

Both teams come in with matching 7-1 records and a top ten ranking for this potential game of the week candidate.

Station. MC’s linebacking corps is shredded with injuries., but somehow their defense  has been even better.

My take on this is the team that wins regular season, loses in the playoffs, which is an indictment of the current playoff system.

I am very excited about this game.  Will there be a broadcast?

It appears last week's game was on WBON-9 TV. They broadcast a lot of Central and Southern games and do a really nice job. I can't find anything that says they'll have the Bryan Station game, but last week's game was on the road and they broadcasted, so you have to think they'll cover a home game.
