Word is interviews will be held next week. Any names out there of who will be getting an interview? This could be a tough job if put back in a district with Louisville schools.

I agree, I believe this was the plan from the time of the original hiring.

Mike Holcomb has retired and William Blair takes over at Madison Central.

Prior to the rough 2-18 sun, they did win their first Region Championship in school history. This is a school that talent is up and down historically in football. Basketball comes first in this school, especially with the current principal/coach situation. From what I hear the discipline on the field and in the school was a huge issue for the team this year.

They both played Eminence I believe. That is a district game for Frankfort. If I’m not mistaken that was a close game.

My question would be what kind of experience are the kids getting when they have a running clock on them in the 1st quarter, and lose by 50?

There will always be what if’s. If a 3rd place in one district is better than 2nd in another district, that’s just bad luck. No way of making everyone happy or being fair to everyone.

I will agree with this. When dealing with this many kids/coaches/adults there will always be problems. Coaches do have to set the standard, that doesn’t always mean everyone will follow. Kids need good influences in their lives more than ever now!

I have been around football for 30 years. There have always been fights between teammates and teams. Everyone having a phone and filming it is the issue. No cell phones, and no social media in the past. So how would know if another team had a fight after practice. It is the world we live in now, but coaches are put in a tough spot. It used to be acceptable that if two players got in a fight, it was broken up and the kids were punished. End of story, now everyone sees the video, gets on social media and bashes the coach, the kids, the school and program.....then someone out there agrees and boom we have an issue. Lots of times these people expressing there opinions about the kids, coaches, and administrators have no ties to the school and/or no background to what happened other than they see the video and feel like it is there duty to express their views. Always easy from the cheap seats.

Stop with the participation awards, take the top 2 teams from a district and start the playoffs. Kentucky messed up going to 6 classes but that won’t be changed anytime in the near future.

Any word on this? I’m sure they are trying to move quick.

With the new transfer rules that could be going into effect soon, I think the timing completely makes sense.

I understand what your saying....be a big surprise to me if KHSAA made any rulings against the transfer.

I don’t think it will be that interesting....we all know how it’s going to get ruled.

Do you see him there long term? Or is this a stop to show he has learned from his mistakes and get back to a bigger school?

Right, so why make this like AAU? I know this won’t be a liked statement but what happened to learning to deal with adversity?

This could be horrible for schools who aren’t powerhouses. What is the point of this? KHSAA made the wrong person mad by not allowing a transfer? Why can kids not play where they live? KHSAA should enforce the rules in place. Yes AAU does it different, great this isn’t AAU.

Probably with being in line is, what if the administration changes? Central doesn’t keep principals for very long. So if he is suppose to be the next coach and the administration changes before the head coach....what happens then?

Support at MC was gone from the admin long before his son was playing QB. From the games I saw he may not have been a QB at that level, but he did seem to be the best option. Never known a coach to play someone they didn’t feel was the best option to win the game. Scenters would be a great hire for GC from what I have heard and seen!

MC had a great season.

This is a tough job unless Montgomery expects to be in a different district in the next realignment.
