Mike Holcomb has retired and William Blair takes over at Madison Central.

I agree, I believe this was the plan from the time of the original hiring.

He'll probably never be viewed in the same light as some of his contemporaries, namely Beatty, Mueller, Haywood, Wallace, Scroggins, and Smith, but he walks on water in Jackson. Holcomb was the architect of a small school powerhouse at Breathitt County, winning three state titles in eight years from '95-'02, a run that included a 42 game win streak from '95-'97.

I couldn’t agree more. I view Holcomb in the same light as I do Steve Spurier. He changed the way people threw the football in KY. There were a lot of college coaches during that 95-02 run that could had learned about throwing the football.
