Newport Central Catholic blasted Eminence in round 1 52-0.  Frankfort beat Ludlow in round 1 of the playoffs 50-13.  These two only common opponent was Ludlow. Newport Central Catholic beat them 60-30 in the regular season.

Who wins this 2nd round playoff matchup? Does Newport Central Catholic advance to round 3? Does Frankfort stun the favorite in this matchup?

Let’s go Breds for sure. I know nothing of Frankfort other than that’s where our 8th grade class trip was to, awesome time. NewCath has the gun at QB and an awesome receiver in Runyon. What can anyone tells us about Frankfort?

I think Class 1A is a three horse race, and NCC is one of those horses (Breds).  NCC proved they are in the hunt agains Beechwood in the regular season finally.  I think NCC rolls past Frankfort.  I would say by 28 or more.

Well, they have lost to four Class 1A teams:  Paris, Nicholas County, Kentucky Country Day and Bracken County.  And they have beaten 6 Class 1A teams.  Their only out-of-class opponent was Class 5A Doss, which they beat.

They have one strong RB, Morgan, who is approaching 1000 yards on the season.  Their passing game seems to be present with a QB that has 700 passing yards and has two or three capable receivers.  Their kicker is going to be Mr. Automatic on extra points and can hit a FG or two.

I think Frankfort can score points. The biggest question can they get some stops on defense.

Appears last couple weeks they have improved on defense based on stats.

They both played Eminence I believe. That is a district game for Frankfort. If I’m not mistaken that was a close game.

Frankfort barely beat Eminence which tells me all I need to know.  NCC rolls into next week.

Unfortunately for my Panthers, I don't see this being competitive. NCC comfortably.

Frankfort is different in many ways than 5 weeks ago.

NCC beat Ludlow by 30

Frankfort beat the by 37

What does that tell us? Nothing when dealing with 14-17 year old kids.

I agree. You never know which team your going to get.. Jekyll or Hyde

Going with my college roommate in this one. Lick gave the freshest fades on campus back in the day. Atchley's offense is tough to prep for. It is all gas and no brakes. I think if NCC's secondary does it's job NCC handles this one with ease.

NewCath rolling 36 7 running clock

I was trying to follow along with the online stats feed and I believe the final was NCC 43, Frankfort 13.
