Open Job: Montgomery County

Recommended Posts

Got confirmation today that Jamie Egli will not be back at Montgomery County next year. In his six years, Egli was 29-35. In the last two seasons the Indians were 4-13.

Covid and being in that district make the last two years really tough. Coach Egli is one heck of a coach. I’m sure if he wants to coach he won’t have a problem finding a new home.

Agree 100% on all of this.

This is a tough job unless Montgomery expects to be in a different district in the next realignment.

Their district will be interesting to follow during realignment. You have to think Frederick Douglass is getting close to 6A and I'd imagine Scott County and Great Crossing, even after the split, are knocking on the door of 6A. If you lose those three, maybe Montgomery County is in a district with the likes of Madison Southern, East/West Jessamine, Woodford County. That's a huge difference.

FD and Great Crossings are both close to 6A. Scott Co will still be 5A. Grant Co should be 4A. MoCo is sitting at about 650 male students and there enrollment on the lower levels is trending down.
