The turnover laden Tigers were down 21-14 at halftime but played better in the 2nd half to get the win. Congrats to Madison Central on a great season!

Nice season MC, impressive first half.

Congrats Tigers, Male up for the 6A title.

Congratulations St X!

Survive and advance!

Congratulations Tigers! Enjoy this victory and then have a great week of preparation.

Game was much closer than everyone predicted. Great effort by MC they were ready and gave St. X all they could handle. They made X earn their trip to Kroger for the 6A title. A game of halftime adjustments and ball security to close out the W. Good luck in the championship game X!

Big play before half changed game.

Madison Central lost their best defensive player half way through the season. Their defense was stout even without him. St. X grinded out that last drive for the W.

Lots of sophomores on MC. Should be pretty good for foreseeable future. X really did great job in 2nd half pushing MC behind the chains.

St. X played without their whole expected starting D line but next man up.

St. X was down 21-7 at one point but scored 24 unanswered.

That’s what makes X season even better. Their DL wasn’t even expected to start and have been lights out all year.

Tales of 2 halves. MC took the 1st and gave St. X and “standing 8 count”, but where it matters the most, 2nd Tigers took over. Congrats to both on a fine season.

This play made all the difference. My hunch is the St. X players got caught up on the helmets of the opposing team and didn’t respect them as much as they should, and already thinking towards Kroger Field. Turnovers snowballed and MC took advantage. But that big play by Mekhi to end the half ignited the team and refocus them on the job at hand. Survive and advance.

Yep. If MC would’ve scored on that drive before that, St. X was finished. Defense got that stop. Wild that Madison Central had won 2 games combined  in the previous 2 years.   That team is probably gonna be in that semi final range as long as Holcomb is there. They didn’t look overmatched at all. MC defense has caused turnovers all year long. That’s their MO. Not a real surprise on them causing St X trouble from that standpoint. Easily the best non-Louisville 6A team in state. St. X earned that one.
