  1. Current RPI has Male at #37. That tells me all I need to know about the validity of the early-season RPI rankings.
  2. It will be interesting to see how your rankings change after this week's King of the Bluegrass. Collins, South Oldham and North Oldham will all face three strong opponents - and possibly each other - between Thursday and Monday of next week. South Oldham has the toughest first round opponent in Male. Good luck to the 8th region teams!
  3. Tigerpride94, did it appear as though St. X missed Mekhi Smith during the game? I ask because it appears they are holding their own with him out or in limited availability.
  4. Niece injured/reinjured or is SK easing him back to strength slowly?
  5. Looking at North Oldham’s schedule, they’re going to be playing some teams a lot better than Moore over the next few weeks! King of the Bluegrass and the Lexington Catholic tournament are loaded.
  6. Let’s just hope none of the Bears have a vacation scheduled during the district/regional tournaments! Regular season games against Collins, Woodford, and Anderson take on greater importance if the #1 seed earns a first round bye in the district tournament.
  7. Is Spencer's center injured? Will he be out long? A short bench puts even more pressure on your starting five, which can compete with anyone. As you've stated before, injuries and foul trouble really change the makeup of a team that only goes 6-7 deep.
  8. May be the first one to 40 in the Collins -Trinity KOB game. Two strong teams defensively.
  9. Wow. Surprising score. OC must have shut Conley down. Is it possible that Oldham County has a stronger junior class than Spencer County? Tough week for Spencer County!
  10. I would not have predicted this outcome. Tough first few weeks for Fern Creek!
  11. I think Andrew Brian is the only senior on the Trinity roster. Last year's senior class was pretty special, and probably limited the playing time for those beneath them.
  12. Does it look like Trinity just struggles to score? They’re now averaging 48.8 per game.
  13. OC's juniors have been tested - Slone started all of last year, Campbell's role increased throughout the year and obviously hit a clutch shot on a big stage at Henry County, and Oak started played a lot as an 8th grader at Carroll County before coming back to OC. Plus, the success of OC at the region tournament and Rupp Arena two years ago gave this junior class some exposure that Spencer hasn't benefited from. I think this is a toss-up, especially after the tough week Spencer has endured thus far!
  14. Sounds like Coach Burns may need to employ some "load management" with his top players. Pretty early in the season for dead legs. That said, Spencer did seem to "front load" its schedule. If they get through the December grind they'll have an easier back half. North Oldham played a district game v. Trimble County the night before, but I guess they had an easy time with them and didn't wear anyone out.
  15. ColonelMike, no scoring mentioned for Whitlock of Spencer. Was he in foul trouble? Thought he might put up some points against North Oldham's guards.
  16. OC may not be as talented as Spencer, but they will probably be longer and deeper. Spencer will need to rest up and prepare for another close one Saturday.
  17. Spencer is 0 for the Oldhams so far this week with a road trip to Oldham County coming up on Saturday. The South Oldham - North Oldham- Oldham County district is a tough one!
  18. South Oldham must have figured it out last night. Should be another good one!
  19. If Conley is 100% Spencer could take down North Oldham. If Conley isn't full speed, I'm not sure who guards Justin Powell. Spencer's lack of depth could hurt them.
  20. Every Trinity game has been close! Next they get to try to stop JJ Traynor and Bardstown.
  21. Not many teams hold South under 60 points. Conley’s injury must not be too bad . . . hope not.
  22. ColonelMike - are you broadcasting South Oldham v. Spencer County tonight?
  23. . . . and Danville was picked 4th in the 12th Region. Oldham County beat them easily.
  24. Shamrocks’ first 3 games decided by a total of 6 points! Expect a close one Tuesday v. Seneca.
