Thanks statman. I'd pick Collegiate as the favorite in the 7th region, but don't think they'll contend for the state title.

My experience suggests that: 1) they take care of their own. 2) there is some favorable treatment to those located east and south of the 10th/11th regions. 3) there’s not much love for Louisville-area schools. (this holds for high school and spring/summer ball in the Lexington area)

Is Louisville Collegiate not in the All “A” tournament since they qualified for the LIT?

Beechwood will face a tough test on Friday as they travel to Oldham County. OC hasn't faced the toughest schedule thus far, but they have the size and depth to play with almost anyone in the state. Expect a tough road environment.

Dunbar had a chance to make a statement against a very good Oldham County team on Friday, but gave up the lead late in the game to lose by 7. Two of Dunbar's 5 wins on the season are against a North Oldham team missing Justin Powell. Dunbar's leading scorer, Tim Hall, missed the last two games with an injury.

Mosley will be the story of the game, but at the end of the day Trinity just struggles to score. Give credit to St X and their defense, but finding shooters and go-to scorers will continue to be a challenge for Trinity this year.

I don’t think there is a vast conspiracy against Conley to deny him the title. There just happen to be some very talented seniors , all deserving of All State recognition, in McKnight, Powell, Vail and Morrison. I will say that if I ever decide to run for public office, I’m going to reach out to you, Cardsrule1972, to run my campaign!

If Conley doesn’t get it this year, it won’t be because he isn’t a talented player. It will be because a player of equal or better caliber, playing on a team with a better record or perhaps against better competition, who is committed to a D1 or D2 school and is a senior ends up winning the award. The only thing that could prevent McKnight from winning would be the votes he’ll split with his teammate Vail.

I was surprised by a couple of scores from the 8th region this weekend: Woodford County 71, Oldham County 66 and Collegiate 47, Anderson County 44. Does anyone have any color on these games?

I'm surprised by this score. Would have expected a more comfortable win for Collins. Looks like Collins was up 7 at half; Trinity must have played a solid second half and OT.

Current RPI has Male at #37. That tells me all I need to know about the validity of the early-season RPI rankings.

It will be interesting to see how your rankings change after this week's King of the Bluegrass. Collins, South Oldham and North Oldham will all face three strong opponents - and possibly each other - between Thursday and Monday of next week. South Oldham has the toughest first round opponent in Male. Good luck to the 8th region teams!
