  1. Since it’s unlikely St X and Manual will play, who gets the #1 seed in their district?
  2. ....consider playing Central Hardin or North Hardin on Friday 10/30? North Hardin plays PRP and Fairdale plays Central Hardin on that day and I believe STX has an open date. With JCPS more than likely canceling all athletic events next week, this would be an opportunity for either of the Hardin Co schools to pick up a quality 6A opponent. Same for STX. Since you have a pretty good idea on what is going on at STX, what are the chances?
  3. Always like when teams travel out of their region to play high profile games. Better competition & exposure for both teams.
  4. If what you said is correct (and I have no reason to doubt you) that is an incorrect call. Just because a player is running out on the field, that is not an illegal substitution penalty. A substitute has the opportunity to come onto the field and replace a player. Just coming on the field does not constitute illegal substitution if the ball is dead. If the ball is live, then it can be illegal substitution or if the substitute actually played before getting set, then it would be illegal participation.
  5. Maybe the coaches don’t like it but I know the kids enjoy playing on a Saturday afternoon especially if the weather is good. A change in the regular weekly routine breaks up the monotony of the season (even if there isn’t anything normal about this season).
  6. This is the year they should have eliminated the first round of playoffs. Those 1 vs 4 games don’t need to be played since most are mismatches with running clocks. Put a bye week somewhere in the playoffs in case COVID comes into play. But it’s impossible to know when that will happen.
  7. Has this game been cancelled? It is no longer shown on the STX JV schedule on their website
  8. So if both Manual & STX win out and their district game is not made up, how is it determined who gets the #1 seed in their district?
  9. This is not a vintage STX squad but it should be good enough to handle the struggling Bears. For STX this game comes at the perfect time. It will enable STX to rest their injured players before their upcoming games against PRP & hopefully Manual. It will also give Sivori and their younger players valuable varsity game experience. Running clock, StX 45-6
  10. Teams that control the ball on the ground usually control the game.
  11. Until STX gets some consistent offense, it’s going to be hard for them to win strictly on the strength of their defense. I believe DeSales has the better running game and speed, so I’ll say DeSales 14-10.
  12. The team that runs the ball with success will win. I don’t know how good CAL’s ground game is. But it’s a great rivalry!
  13. Trinity wins but on Sat morning the Rocks will know they’ve been in a game. Ballard is very physical.
  14. I see this as a low scoring game because both teams have hard nose defenses. Until STX makes teams respect their offense, (both running and passing) Manual will play close to the LOS and force STX to throw the ball. Manual 14-10
  15. Continuity & tradition is what keeps Trinity at the level they are. STX has the tradition but at this time, not the coaching continuity. I’m sure most level headed people at STX realized it was going to take Wallace a few years to get things back on the right track. Next year’s team at STX will be players that came to STX during the Wallace era. Maybe the coaching continuity has begun.
  16. You win with seniors in HS football. This group of seniors at X was the last group of freshmen WW brought in. When the HC resigns the week after playing in the state championship game in 2017, how much effort do you think was made in getting out and “encouraging” 8th graders to come to STX? When you know you won’t be coaching the next season why worry about the incoming freshmen class. STX is now paying the price this season but the future looks bright.
  17. It looks like STX still hasn’t recovered from the Wil Wolford fiasco. Maybe next year things will start to be more competitive between the 2 programs.
  18. I guess Froshmore teams will become more prevalent in the future.
